Default Is it possible to pass emissions with an APS single turbo kit w/dual exhaust??????

Hello everyone, i've decided to purchase a APS single turbo for my forged performance S1 short block. I just recently learned that you must you a reverse Y-pipe so a true dual exhaust would be easier and better for boost. Would i have any problems passing emissions with this setup you think?

Also how come i only see video's of 350z's with turbonetics turbo's and rarely any of APS single turbo's? Does anyone have a APS single turbo in here that provide me any useful information?

Thanks for looking

umm from what i know there are no legalized turbos for 350Z only the Stillen Stage 1 and Stage 2 Superchargers and the Vortech Supercharger are the only legal forced induction systems that you can buy the only way you can pass emissions is if you find a shop that will do what we call "if you got the money to pass" type of emissions test lol

kind aasking for info after the fact now huh? If they actually do a tail pipe sniffer you wont pass. If they do a visual, you wont pass.

If all they do is read OBDII codes, you should pass.

On a single turbo, I'd use a single exhaust. Less bends, straight flow.. Using a dual is just for looks, unless you want your wastegate to have its own exhaust pipe.

Depends on you state inspection and emissions requirements.

You can call or visit an emissions officer and ask. But they may trace the call and send the emissions police to your house.

when the inspector "visually" checks your engine bay and sees the aftermarket turbo setup

everyone here who has gone FI has pretty much counted on not passing emissions anymore. that is, unless they resort to the "if you got the money to pass" method described above.

If you are adding this turbo to a built motor and I assume this means you are running a lower compression you need to really consider the Powerlab kit. There is also a guy on here (Boosted Probe) who has designed and is now fabricating a pretty sweet kit that seems to be capable of some pretty high numbers. His thread it at the top of the FI forum right now. I know this is off you topic but but I'm surprised noboday hasn't said anything about this yet.

So a Vortech Supercharger will be able to pass emissions easy, but a aps single turbo would easily fail is what everyone is saying....hmmmm i guess maybe i should just get the vortech s/c then. Dam i was really looking forward having a turbo too lol

yes vortech s/c and stillen stage 1 & 2 s/c are both legal FI for the 350Z but like i said before if you got the money you can go to a shop that you " Pay to Pass" or know someone who has connections you'll have no worries. not unless you do it the old school way, like my cousins did on their hondas, integras, or 240's they would just take off the turbo during Emissions test and then after they'd put it back lol
