this is one way to keep noobs out. confuse the hell out of them!

well i stand corrected..i didn't know the price has dropped that much on the TT kits since the last i looked at them...now does this come with everything needed to install and drive away? i.e. engine management, fuel lines, ect...

well to the OP if he can get a TT kit for this price then by all means do it...last time i looked at them, which was not too long ago, they were close to $10k

even with the different pricing in installation this will even out

There's the main issue. If you can't afford a couple extra grand to do it RIGHT, you shouldn't be doing it in the first place. That doesn't appear to be the case with the OP. Nowhere in his first post did he state that he was on a tight budget.

The main issue in the argument that i'm covering is in the OP's interest...if he isn't planning on tracking then why spend the extra $4-5k?? a dyno queen is a dyno queen reguardless...NOW like i said above i'm going by not what's the absolute best kit out there but what the OP is looking for number wise...if he's just going to DD the car and go WOT every now and then on the open road then the 500-600rpm difference in lag won't matter, it'll still be a very fast street car that should be respected in any situation
$4-$5K extra? Where the heck did you get that? That would almost buy you a second full TT kit from Greddy.

can we get some proof on that? last time i checked.. a ST install was about $1200 and the TT install was about $2000...

but i will gladly conceed when you show proof otherwise and not a blank statement

i'm going by installation as well...i should have stated that

and with the OP not stating anything about his money issue i was covering both sides....no matter what type of FI you get into, you will spend much more $$ later in fixes/repairs that will be needed down the road

and to cover this argument, the price will obviously be more for a TT to be installed...now as to how much, depends on where you get the work done

i did want to bring this up...who said going TT is the right way? there are obviously different setups for different things here, that's why there are so many options out there to choose from. i'm not saying it isn't the right way for the OP but he should look into all the options for what he's looking for before making that decision, hence the reason for this thread...don't get biased now

To make good, reliable power, while keeping the linear powerband of the VQ intact, and keeping heat where it should be.

Why is the GT-R twin turbo? Because it's the most efficient form of FI for a V-configuration motor.

It's not biased, it's the truth.

BTW .. According to julian.. the powerlab kit is "Approximately 15 hour install time"

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...who-wants.html

so unless labor is $65/hr .. its not going to be under $1000

well i'll agree 100% with you again that the TT is best suited for the VQ engine...but there are other options that are just as reliable long term as well...now money does come into issue here once again and we don't know how much the OP is looking to spend...that's why i am having an unbiased look into all the options here for him. since from his first post it doesn't seem as if he's too familiar with FI and i think that he should be well informed about the costs that come after going FI, not just including suspension, brakes, etc... just because there are some options out there that are less pricey in parts than others...i'm not jumping anyone's case here, just doing what we are all doing, by helping out the OP

this isn't my argument on install prices but that seems about right hourly regardless where you go, +/- 2-4 hours...labor will vary which everyone here will know...i've personally been quoted close to $700 for a clutch/flywheel installation at one place and $400 at another...it's all about competing against one another

the statement of prices wasn't to you.. it was to str8dum1 who said the ST kit install is under 1k and the TT is over 2k

If you havent OWNED or at the very least extensively driven both a ST and TT Z/G STFU!!

Fawking people on these forums my god what a collection of douches at times...

OP-go to a shop and trust they send you in the right direction, you arent smart enough to dissect the fact vs the BS in this thread, this is worthless now.
