.... I will check it out ... I think I'm gonna mimic the pl kit because it makes good power for the set up..
Only thing I will be changing is physically where the turbo is mounted

just remember, longer the pipes, the more lag.

You are essentially created at STS kit in a different location

There is reason why pl located the turbo at driverside. Once you try relocate that turbo, you needs ton of work to do.
Shoot pm to hal@ip, ask him about his personal z. Sounds like you want turbo setup like his personal z.

Good luck, before sold my z, I thought about doing a custom ST.

i'm suprised more people haven't chimed in about the powerlabs kit.

powerlabs makes a front mount gt35 turbo kit. It uses cross over pipes which would add a lot of piping verses forward facing manifolds.

search for powerlabs and you should find a handful of threads with great detailed pictures of them if you want some ideas.

I have seen alot of kits twin rear mount and the standard single top mount set up or the standard twin set up.

anyone seen anything on a front mount set up?

isn't a PL gt35 setup in the front of the engine? He wanted to know if anyone runs the turbo front mount and they make that kit for it. It's in the same location that Hal uses on his gt42 (i think 42)

Well the plan is to locate the turbo on the drivers side just lower than that theirs it should not be too difficult just need a refference of how they flap their down pipe and then we can fab up a down pipe

I will message him for pics

Well originally this thread had a purpose.
now yes it is a "dreamer" thread.
even though i said nothing about power and nothing about what shop I will be taking it to
there is no current whp goal and i never said anything about a budget.

sorry that I am trying a DIY kit my bad
and sorry I am trying to place the turbo in a unique place

and if and when it is said and done I will be contributing something to this forum.

Hummm..lower...well idk, if thats safe to put turbo there tho. There is nothing protect turbo that area.(DD) No? Idk. I still think that best custom turbo location will be front of engine, not lower or one side corner or other side.(like where queman and hal's z) once you remove a radiator and cut out radiator support, you will have a enough space there.
Well interesting thread.

with where we are planning on placing the turbo we should be able to route an turbo inlet filter back behind the radiator for DD use. but for the track and or for the dyno it will be easily removed. its a work in progress but we are reviewing the PL kit this afternoon and will the come up with a better drawing of how we will route all the piping. the placement of the turbo. if it ends up not being worth it then the idea will be scraped.

all the intake piping and exhaust piping will be free so it will more than likely become a fun project for ***** and giggles

you'll run into some serious mods, like removal of the radiator support, custom radiator, possibly losing power steering, moving the alt and starter

3" pipe at a minumum for a downpipe is hard enough to route in the current locations.

good luck

yep, the man speaks no lies.

here is a link to Hal's setup with a large turbo. He had to make a custom radiator support and i think maybe even a custom radiator.
