Smile Custom Turbo Build in progress GTK1000 turbo!!

Hi all just thought i would share with you the latest on my car, motor has just been rebuilt,Block redecked, block Bored and Honed, Crank Balanced, Crank journals polished, Cosworth Main and Rod Bearings with Ceramic Coating, PPM Racing H-Beam Rods, ARP Rod Bolts, Cosworth Forged Pistons 8:5:1, Heads Redecked, Ported Exhaust and Intake Runners, c8 cams, Cosworth HD Valve Springs, Cosworth Head Gaskets, Unthordox pulleys, Where using a custom setup for the turbo, Fabrication work is almost done A Turbonetics GTK 1000 Turbocharger was what we chose to you use as a fellow friend is getting close to 1000hp in a M3 with the a gtk turbo.Will be using Tial BOV, 60mm Tial Wastegate, Custom Intercooler, Custom Exhuast Manifolds and Piping , Return Fuel system, 2L Surge tank, 2 bosch pumps and 1 Walbro intank pump, 6 x 1000cc Injectors, Billet fuel Rails, Haltech ECU, and more to come...

very nice build.. post more pix!!!... I hope this isnt another down the drain thread that you never hear about anymore.. just like the single build powerlab that, god knows what happened..

Where will the down pipe run? It dosent look like there is any room in the pictures it looks like it will have to run under the steering rack? Its hard to tell from the pictures so maybe there is more room than the picture shows. I am interested in your results

Will this car need a custom condenser/radiator setup or is A/C being ditched all together?

No air con, new radiator, waiting on exhaust weld flange for the turbo to fab the downpipe, more pics coming soon.

nah they did the GTK6XX ... but they were still using fcked up TN Piping.. from what i'm seeing here this is all custom piping

Always exciting to see someone try something new, especially when going for big power. One suggestion, put ebp bungs on both collectors. With the piping being so different between the banks, you may end up with a different tune on bank1 vs bank2. Any reason you chose Turbonetics?

Picked up the turbo for a cheap price, also trying something different i had a aussie commodore with and always have run a garret so trying something i think no one has tried on a 350z, turbonetics have got a good unit with there GTK series, we got some awesome results with there units so giving it a go
Pics of customers/friends M3 it dynod in just over 1000hp on 98 oct fuel no nitrous with a gtk 850

good luck i hope this turbo does the same as the m3 but i dont know about a vq motor.

thats just a 76mm turbo, no different than 900 hp widebody G35 that Intense has...

TN Turbo's get a bad rap because of TN's sh!tty piping they never improved on.... the Turbo's themselves are fine.. but anything with a TN name will leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth who has been on this board for sometime
