Default Hmm... she i fix before FI?

**i posted earlier in wrong section, so reposting and closing other thread***

Okay so i got an SES saying my air fuel ratio sensors are bad ( o2's on the headers) they replaced one of them and the ses came on, so im guessing the other one is bad as well? anyways, im going FI in like 3-4 weeks. One of the turbo manifold will have my A/f ratio gauge and the other will use a normal o2. so should i just wait to replace? or should i struggle w/ dealership till they fix it ( still under warr. ) btw its a 07

If its free now, get the stealership to fix it. Remember, after you go F/I you can pretty much NEVER take your car to a dealership again. They will flag your VIN and list all your mods to deny any and all warranty claims without major hassle.

It's for free. Atleast you can get a loaner vehicle from the dealer. Not that bad

this is a pretty stupid question honestly...and yeah i hope u realize if or when u go F.I. that ur warranty is over so anything that is wrong with ur car should get fixed for free now while u can...and the statement above me is totally true

If you were to fix it without warranty after FI, it's 350-400 bucks per sensor (2 total). It doesn't affect your tune or anything, but it is annoying. Fix it for free now if you can.

Anytime they have your car apart or are waiting on parts, they give you either a loaner or a rental. Least, that's what my dealership does. Not that my car has been at the dealer in the past few years. But, still...

You're 100% correct. I took mine to the dealer after warranty so it wasn't a big deal but they noticed the FI goodness and made note of it.

Hit the nail on the head...

OP, words of advice, read through this section and see how many of us have our cars down for stuff going wrong. About 80% or more of us have things go wrong and our cars are down for weeks not days, some months and years...

Don't think that your warranty is fully void, if you go turbo that pretty much cancels out the WHOLE drive train but don't think twice about taking it in for a bad window motor. If the problem was caused by what you modded then no go, if its unrelated they CANNOT turn your warranty work down, they can tell you they will but they can't. Either a different dealership will do it, or a simple letter stating the law will get it done.

Since you ran something over causing a problem with the O2 chances are they WILL NOT cover it under warranty Most likely the O2 failed because of you hitting something and having it welded.

What? You know that welding could have cause the damage, correct? I would take a deep breath before I go in there calling them dumb-asses.
