What mods were done to the camera car? And was the LS3 stock?
The Supra, if you go with an HKS 2835 kit(twins) for great response and about 650+whp depending on supporting mods($7500), or the PHR Stage 2+ for 700+ stock motor and 730+ with IM, according to MVP's site($5300/$6000 with DBB) or the Boost Logic Stage 2 T67 which will give you about 690whp($4000). Personally I would go with the PHR Stage 2+ DBB, since it gives you full boost at around 4,200(PHR Stage 2+ is rated at 4,300 the DBB takes off about a 100RPM of spool) and will pull til about 7500. All of these kits lack fuel systems and intercoolers, but these numbers are also to the wheel on stock blocks.
After this though the playing field evens up, b/c you start to get laggier turbos and/or built motors where the performance and/or cost with the Z evens out. However if you are so inclined you can hand over 14 thousand to Boost Logic and get a 3.4l stroked motor that they run over 1500whp on and I believe is used in SWs 248mph TX Mile Supra. Virtual Works, MVP, Boost Logic, and SP Engineering all deliver great products and customer service, and stand behind their work, and give their customers all the support they can, which I see browsing on SF. Some of the Z shops offer great customer service, but still don't stand behind their work for sh*t from what I've seen, all they like to do is point fingers at other people so they don't have to assume responsibility.
Depending on my goals, I would take the Supra. I know the Z has it's strokers and built motors making great power, but I also see how many people have issues with their high hp Zs, whereas the Supra guys beat on their cars constantly and the Supras keep coming back, asking for more, and some are comin up on 20 years old. I won't even get into resale value or what the Z is becoming.

T67 Supra vs stock block Z what did you think would happen?
A well mod'd stock block Supra would likely beat most built Z's on this site.
Id sure like to run a T67 me on meth him on whatever. I wanna see em deal with 698ft/lbs @ 4000rpm's fawk his brake boosting!

Ill let you guys know soon. Have a 1khp 2jz going into one of my Zs and my other will have greddy twins. Ill be home in december from Iraq and thats when the fun shall begin. Honestly its cheaper to build and make power with the 2J over the VQ. Just got to make sure you buy the right parts the first time for what you want to accomplish with the car/motor.
I'll have a thread started when I get home. Stay tuned and keep it in the back of your minds. ;p

Speaking of LS3 vettes, I ran one last night that was boltons and he smoked my *** twice. On the second run I turned up the boost to 10lbs and was holding a solid 4 cars behind him. He just got such a jump on me from a 40 roll that I could not catch back up. I was not brake boosting.
That will be my next car for sure. The lS3 Vettes are very very fast in stock form.

I know its from not brake boosting. In a close race if you lag against a very responsive car (Vette) its hard to catch up. The jump he got from the roll is basically where he stayed. I think if I could have brake boosted for a better start the race may have turned different. I remember ive ran Ls3 Vettes before with my old N20 setup and did alot better. I still believe im slower with the TN kit.
Not to mention we were in a cowfield dodging cows because street racing is illegal.
