You already have the utec. Why spend another $500.

I say keep the UTEC and save the money for a Haltech later.

Osiris makes a great product but you don't need it if you allready have the utec. If anything uprade to a Haltech, HKS Fcon or the ProEfi.

If you're happy with your drivability then keep the utec. Otherwise osiris should make for a better daily driver.

Considering you are built and on boost, i'd suggest that you are beyond the rational limitations of either a piggyback or a PCM editor. As mentioned, live with the UTEC, and when the time comes go with a Haltec or other full standalone management.

Yea, seems you got a nice kit n a nice block. Until Osiris makes something with a knock protection i say stick with Utec and only UPGRADE to a complete standalone. I feel like switching to Osiris with ur set-up would be somewhat of a downgrade.

I'm upgrading to a stage 2 GTM kit with RFS and built block.

And using Osiris.

Honestly, it is superior to the Utec in almost every way I can imagine. Run a search and count the number of threads there have been about people ditching their Utecs for Osiris... and compare that to the number of people that have gotten Osiris and been unsatisfied with it and went back to a Utec. There's your answer

it is really too bad that TurboXS stopped updating the UTEC software. they haven't given us an update in over 3 years!!! a few years ago, they showed a utec with a GUI at SEMA, but it never made it into the wild. part of the upgrade was supposed give the user more load sites (better resolution), and that would really help out the utec. the other item that needs help is the temperature compensation tables.

i think u would have a better overall tune and more street friendly car with uprev osiris tune, but if u already have the utec and the place can properly tune the utec id just stick with it...

I’m just curious, why are you going with Osiris? Why not keep the UTEC for some of its boost safety features (if any) or upgrade to ProEFI or Haltech?

I just picked up a complete PowerLab GT35R kit minus an EMS as I already had Osiris from my N/A time, I was planning on just going with the Osiris but thought about it and started thinking I might need something with more features and safeguards…not sure yet though…

IMO, 500whp is the upper limit for either of those. Considering you are built motor, I would suggest protecting that investment by upgrading to a standalone - Haltech plug&play ems.

+1.. save the money and get a haltech or a full standalone when you get a chance. Why take a lost on your Utec for Osiris? Osiris does have an advantage over Utec on certain area but Utec also have an advantage on other area too over Osiris. Who ever said that Osiris trump Utec in every aspect has no clue on what he's talking about.

I'm in the same boat with reccomendation to "upgrade" to orisis from UTEC. I'm sure there are some added benefit, but just imagine life before osiris, would anybody consider UTEC unsafe or insufficient for their application? probably not. Tuners are in the business of making money, everytime somehting comes out, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Hype = upgrade = revenue! I just think people often overlook this aspect of the business.

Keep the utec it works fine. Save your money and put it to a standalone when you are ready. I've run a utec for 3 yrs with no problems. If your tuner is good he can tune most of the bugs out of a utec that concern driveability.

intec did the work on your car correct? they hate on the utec there and loves the osiris.. the tuner refuses to tune on utec i believe and only recommends osiris. i remember going there and they were working on a G with the JWT kit (if i remember correctly) there thats from oregon. pretty sure it was ur car.. whose doing your machine work?? you jus had your twins installed not too long ago.. already bored with the power??

Yes, I was very bored with the power. 400 whp is just enough to make you want more with a heavy-*** G.
And I was going to be out of the country for 4 months so I decided to upgrade.

Intec handled the machine work, I don't believe in piecing together a build like this trying to save a couple hundred bucks. If something happens to the motor, Intec built it, Intec will fix it. They spend years building relationships with suppliers, machine shops, and whatnot for a reason.

In the end, its your car, if you want it bad enough I'm sure Lawrence will tune you on the Utec, but he's just trying to help you with his personal experience

I did my own research, not just limited to one shop and a bunch of people on the internet and decided on Osiris. Anybody can be anybody they want on the internet...
How many people have you talked to in real life that are boosted and tuned on either of these??
