vortech helpp
i have the vortech in my car, but the blower is damaged. it makes a really loud screeching sound, not really sure what it is but im hoping its the bearings that went bad. i have been driving without the belt, so the blower isnt spinning. i have twin turbos in my garage but i dont have the money to install it so i was gonna fix my blower for the time being. Do i have to send in my blower to vortech to get it fixed?? or can i just order the bearing and have a shop do locally. How hard is it to take off the blower to send it in to vortech? is it something that i can just take off pretty easily or do i have to take apart a lot of things before i get to the blower itself. any help is appreciated thankss
i was also wondering if its possible to use my greddy intercooler for my twin turbo setup on my vortech. i know the vortech intercooler only has two outlets but the greddy has 3. is there anyway i can make this work?? thankss in advance
You need to remove the oil feed and return lines first. Don't forget to drain all the oil from the oil tank before doing this. Then loosen the coupler to the blower and remove the mounting bracket. All the pipes can stay in place, however if the bearings went bad there is a good chance that there is oil in your pipes. As for using the greddy intercooler for you Vortech, it's not going to happen.
