Trouble shooting help- APP/TB
For the last couple weeks my car has been getting the p2138 code and has been going into limp mode(slip and vdc light). But a few times this week it went into limp and then stalled. I know it is either the APP sensor or TB.I Searched and didnt find a exact way to trouble shoot it is specifically. I am kinda strapped for cash and closest shop i trust is an hour away(50 miles) so if i could fix it my self cheaply i would be extremely gratefull
Symptoms:
-P2138 -nissan specific-Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor
-p2128- non specific- tps/pedal position sensor/swith d/e voltage correction
-happens when going slowly/and when using brakes(i.e. Parking garages)
-happens when extreme temp change
-happens alot when the ecu is cycleing thru "startup" procedures
-happens at random times no rhyme or reason maybe every 10 times i drive it and when it does happen it happens a few time in a row and then stops
-after i turn of car, wait like 15 sesonds then restart, no problems
-if i turn of and right back on car is still in limp
Checked:
-Brake fluid
-utec grounding(was loose but problem persists)
- throttle body- appears to be fairly clean
Potential Fixes:
-Replace TB with remanufactored one
-Replace APP sensor/pedal
-Ecu Reset
-Clean throttle Body*-havnt done since i heard this can throw out the calibration of unit
-Throttle body recalibrate
I *think* it is the TB becuase the car now stalls out and i doubt that the app sensor would cause it to stall but maybe i am wrong. I looked at the TB and after 35k(48K total) miles of being boosted it actually looks really clean for having meth and no catch can. Intake tube is free of dust/grime.
Pink stain is meth residue.

I doubt it is utec... There are other parts in the car that can fail too and it's not always a Utec problem Do all the basic troubleshooting. First unplug the negative wire from the battery to do the ECU reset for 15 mins and step on you brakes a few times ( I find it easier and cleaner to do the battery reset). If that didint fix it then clean your MAF sensor, clean your TB, do the TB/Idle relearn or reset. Ask around if you can borrow someone's TB for troubleshooting...

I was just guessing. Just so happens that I was right.
Almost identical symptoms happened to me after a year of trouble free(besides the temp compensation) Utec.
I replaced the TB, MAF, O2s, spark plugs and completed the ECU and idle reset.Nothing seemed to work.
After removing the Utec, the issues went away.
Not saying for sure the Utec is your issue, just throwing it out there for you to rule out.
I have a spare TB if you want to try.

^ thanks for the offer but i got it resolved from infiniti for free. I played dumb and while i was getting my seat replaced under warrenty i had them check out the SES light
-they replaced APP pedal/sensor
.....car goes into limp mode again within 15 mins of me leaving dealer, call back and schedule them to look at it again
-They replaced the throttle body with a new one.
Problem solved. I guess you cant really touble shoot which one it is and you just gotta replace both or swap them out if you have an extra to try

That's great. The dealer near me wouldn't touch my car with the turbos installed. I'm surprised they replaced the TB because I'm sure their lawyers could come up with some explanation of how the positive pressure might effect the butterfly and the electronics inside the TB.
Dang Superchargedg... those aren't cheap.
Did they just fail or were you cleaning them? My friends failed after he forced the butterfly open to clean it.
