There are big downsides for using the 5AT on a road course but for a mostly street car, it's reasonable.

Turbonetics makes a turbo kit fore the automatic z, the ecu software that comes with the kit raises the rev limiter to 7000 rpms, with that being done, you shouldn't need a valve body upgrade. I'm getting this kit fore my z.I would get a transmission cooler though.

This part is incorrect. The valve body serves to minimize clutch pack wear and heat by increasing line pressure to decrease time for clutch slip.

Hitting redline is a completely different issue that can still happen, even with a VB.

Id never own an automatic... but DAMN... sometimes I just think.. god I wish I had another auto Z FI

You need to ride in one with FI and the VB upgrade as you wont believe how hard and fast they shift.........just ask Alberto when he rode in mine.
