What problems are you having with the UTEC? It definitely has it's limitations.

If you are looking for a normal "AEM EMS" plug&play standalone... there isn't one for the 350Z. Many 350Z owners use the Haltech Platinum plug & play standalone. People use it for NA builds all the way to 1000+whp. Info here: http://www.injectedperformance.com/e....aspx?ID=10373

Aem does not make a ems for the 350z. If you use one of the universal boxes you will need to convert your throttle body to a cable and add all new gauges, since it doesn't support fly by wire or the can system. Go with haltech, F-con, or pro efi.

I don't know where exactly in Texas you are but you have quite a few good tuners there. Jtran in Houston, UpRev in Austin and a few more I can't think of off the top of my head. Call one of them and see which system they feel comfortable tuning and will fit your needs

At least $1700 on EMS, handness, and what ever else you may need, than you have to add on at least $750 for a tune.

It will support all the power you want with some caveats.

It uses the stock ECU for starting, so injectors bigger than ~600cc will have hot/cold start issues bc the stock ECU can't scale them, so its too rich. That can be fixed with a Osirus reflash to make the stock ECU know you have big injectors.

The resolution of the maps is only 10 cells wide. The more boost you run, the less your fine tuning control.

Other than that, it controls fuel and timing just like any other high $ EMS

Look into the Haltech standalone ecu. It's a quality unit, the software interface is amazing, it has outstanding datalogging capabilities, and there is far better support for it than the AEM (at least in the Z world). Here's a video of our shop car on the dyno, using the Haltech:

if anything people should be looking at the ProEFI 128 way over the Haltech. The Proefi is just so far ahead of the Haltech in terms of options. That being said, I have a haltech for sale

Pro-EFI for me too.

I have the 48 box, but I would also recommend the 128 box...it comes with so many features and things (for safety especially) that other ECU's just don't have.

OP, if you can go either of the proefis(128 being ahead of curve on features) or the haltech which has nice user friendly software too and you can get easy support on the board.....
With respect tot he UTEC, id look at it as far as the limits it has handling large injectors....i wouldnt trust it with ~700+cc injectors.......~650cc injectors is about the max, and you still would have some small cold start issues.... id still work...so may be a backup options will you can upgrade to something better and then retune + more boost
