Cipher
Figure I'm most likely to find someone in here with one...
Wondering if anyone has a Cipher USB cable unit that I can borrow (not the osiris).
I want to make a single change in my ECU and don't want to buy the darn thing just for that.
If anyone has one they would ship to me and let me borrow (I'll cover shipping and whatever you want for me to use it)......
just lemme know...no one on chicagoz seems to have one.
Thanks,
Tom

There website isn't super clear, but from old posts on here it doesn't sound like if....for the Cipher.
For the Osiris, you would be correct though.

Good luck finding one. Cipher will work on any car and wil bump ya 250 rpms over stock so ~850. If you need any higher than that, you'll need a reflash.

i have one of those, works great to monitor oem sensors and stuff as well as clear codes/fuel trims,
but its just a scanner, won't adjust idle or anything like that.
i think the cable is too slow to work with osiris or something anyway.
do you know anyone with an accessport? i plugged my friends' up to my car and it seemed like it would adjust the idle on any z/g, as well as a global timing change and only the full map was ecu locked. i may be wrong though.

Tom, maybe try posting in your regional forum, and see if someone local can meet up with you.
Keep in mind the idle bump is only 250RPM,and only works on earlier gen ECU's from the 03-04's, and a handful of 05's.

I'll try on here to (for regional)....but I posted on chicagoz.com and no one does....ugh....
I just need like 800-850rpm for the idle, nothing crazy...
And I have an 04 (woohoo!)
Thanks,
Tom

if you run out of luck, you can go to the dealership and via the consul II they can up your rpm.
