Can CAMP2 read boost from EMS?
So I'm unsure if anybody has asked this before, I used search but found endless threads of useless unrelated information (even brought up some FS/FT threads) and I started getting annoyed. I just got my haltech EMS w/ boost control solenoid for my turbo setup and was wondering. I really want to use a camp2 (or a similar product, not the type to be caught up on brand names) for all my gauges to avoid having pods everywhere (especially up my pillar) and keep the clean look in my interior. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to have the camp2 read and display the boost levels from my EMS so that I don't have to spend an extra $200 on sensors and boxes to be able to do something that my Haltech already does. Actually, If I could get it to read wideband AFR from my haltech too, even better. But yeah, that's basically what it boils down to, is there any way to have a Camp2 read stuff from the EMS so that I don't have to pay twice to install sensors and boxes for stuff that I already have thru my EMS? Maybe the Blitz unit might be able to? I've seen a bunch of people doing CarPCs and such, but I can't seem to work out how complex of a task it would be, and how cost effective it is, as when people mention this or suggest it, they are exremely vague about it. Any help would be awesome, and greatly appreciated. thanx!

i dont believe so. For your camp2 to work u have to go through the obd2 port and u will have to buy the sensor for boost if u want it to appear on the screen. If u had the Vpro then everything is wired into that and u wont need to buy the boost sensor.
Thanx! I'll look into the Vpro now. I just want to achieve my goal (a clean, one screen display in the cubby showing me all my vitals), and don't care too much about how I get there, as long as it's cost effective and I don't have to replace my EMS, so other suggestions are welcome!. I really just want to avoid paying twice or more for several parts that perform the same function

This is a Zeitronix DashDAQ setup we're doing for a customer. Coupled with the ZT-2, it displays all OBDII data, as well as wideband A/F, boost, egt, and a number of custom inputs if you choose.

You would need the CAMP2 system, the Meter Interface Unit (I/F Unit) to connect to the CAMP2 and the Optional Boost Pressure Sensor and Harness Set to read boost.

Here is my setup, notice how it says IF_Boost.
ya but that's all standalone stuff, not compatible with haltech, since halteh doesnt output any of its info.
so no, your only option to use the same sensors haltech does its to buy the RacePack dash

Does the IQ3 do boost? I looked over the specs for it but can't recall if I saw a boost reading. Now that were on the IQ3 topic, is the Aim MXL worth the extra doh? My only real qualm about these 2 systems is replacing the stock dash. I've seen these dashes (correct plural?
) used in cars like the S2K and RSX and it looks nice and clean, but how would it look on our cars? (given that we have that weird 3 pod-ish dash thats mounted to the steering column). Any pics of the Z with an IQ3 or Aim MXL???

^ Hehe... kinda looks like Mickey mouse... How difficult was it to make the mount? Expensive? I think I might have a similar custom mount made and go with an IQ3... I wonder if theres space for my turbo timer to be incorporated into the dash hhhmmm... thanx for the info/idea
Edit: that dash came out really nice Kwame. I likey.
In my car previously I went with a CarPC set-up from MCS (Mobile computing solutions) used a touch screen Lilliput monitor in the dash and plugged the EMS (used to be an Auronic SM4) into that. That allowed a couple different things like remote tuning and logging if necessary via a broadband card w/ a VPN and allowed me to use the "digital dash" function that many EMS's have showing just about everything you can imagine or want to on top of the standard guages.
This actually came in handy running the car across the country at multiple different elevations and air temp extremes as I could monitor just about everything....for a track car those external dashes are the way to go (like the IQ3 for example).
Here's a list of top manufacturers of systems like that. The new thing with the ever so popular "AIM" dashes is the new digi cam with gauge overlay and recording. SUPER helpful for going back through a track logs and going off driver comments and marker points.
