lol, good call, since hp is a component of tq.

Not true, since inertia dyno's ( Dynojets ) measure HP FIRST....then they calculate Torque based on the RPM signal. That's why they can give you HP with or without an rpm pickup...they can't give you torque however without it.

well, chalk up another reason i am glad i don't tune on a dynojet. So that's like reason 100 that the DD dyno's can do so much more for tuning.

Calculating torque from hp is backwards. hp is ftlb/min so basically torque per given time. So it's odd to calculate HP without having a tq reading.

I wouldn't doubt the accuracy of load bearing dyno's vs. an inertia dyno....but they are just tuning tools after all and inertia dyno's get the job done.

ya, but i don't like them. It's the same as street tuning except you arent moving. There is on way to hold a load to adjust individual cells for all load (psi). WIth dd you can lock it at say 2000 rpm and go from -22 all the way to 14psi and tune all those cells. On the DJ you can't hit all the cells sicne the rpm can't be held static while the load on the engine changed.

It just makes for a lot faster and precise tune. First time i was introduced to the DD i didn't understand why anyone would waste hours on a DJ trying to get all the cells tuned in. On the DJ before a great deal of my cells were just "guestimated" which i don't like.

ya, i mostly did but i like my car to be perfect in drivability which is why i go to the DD. I can't hit all the cells on the street.

also, now that i'm pushing for 650-700hp i need to watch timing and detonation closely. I choose to let an experienced pro do that so i get the max i can out of this car.

Plus at 500hp now it's a huge handful to do anything when hammering down the gas. speed gets up there really fast too and i've made it to 27 years of age with no tickets and would like to keep it that way. 50$ a month full coverage for my car is niiice.

I have not touched it in two months. (work, audits, work, audits) The kit is all install except for vacuum lines, and some electronics.
Have vacation first week of November just to finish it and tune it so by the end of that week hope that it starts up and that I have a dyno chart.

Back from the dead!
Finally finished this thing and yesterday went for a tune.
This is a T-Trim kit stock pulley and I’m very pleased with the result
411.58whp and 323.88 ft-lbs. at 9 pounds.
After 5 months down, the car just started right up and drivability is almost stock.
Now moving into my 2nd project and new DD a Genesis coupe R-spec.
Not going to waist time in that one and plan to do a LS2/LS3 swap in a couple of years.
As for the z I’m very pleased with the result AF is low 11’s at WOT and no knock whatsoever.

Whats the verdict with a 3.9 final drive installed with SC setups?

Pros? Cons?

And ultimately is it safe?

A
Works pretty good.
Centrifugals produce low torque and the FD will multiply it.
Only down side is that the already short gears will be shorter.
To go to a dragstrip I would have to buy a pair of 28" drag radials.
But on the street it works great.

Congrats on your new power!

Do you plan on going any further with that blower?

Thanks!
For sure, torque is low so I think there is room in there.

Nice.......

V1 or V2 Blower?

3.12 ?

You will like the feel of the car with AFR's closer to 12.0, with a hair less timing

looks to me you have a little bit beltslippage at the highest rpm.

you can see boost and power drop a bit at the end. they should keep climbing till the end.
