will resonated test pipes add power to my vortech
im thinking about getting these race pipes for my vortech. i have stock cats right now. has anyone ran these?? the resonated race pipes from intensepower are very cheap, compared with other resonated test pipes that go up to 500, will i expect a gain from these race pipes?? also is it worth spending the extra 40 on the CEL fix?? thankss guys

they should flow better than the stock cats, so assuming you have too much backpressure now, you can make more power.
Dont spend the 40$ on the CEL fix. Cost 20$ to make yourself with a pair of stacked O2 extenders on each pipe. You probably dont even need those anyhow.

I have seen Test Pipes create a adverse effect than the owners wanted on SC kits.
SC's need some back pressure it's not like a turbo where the better it breathes the better it performs. Just putting out there what I have seen time and time again if anything I would do HFC on a SC

Well, reducing backpressure should move your tq to the right (higher rpm) some. But should free up some HP in the higher rpm too.
Vortec's already are lower in tq in the mid anyway, so to me you are offsetting the tq by increasing hp up top and hopefully area under the curve.
Essentially, free-er flowing exhaust will be better for street cars.

I had some interesting results...in a nutshell, I gained more HP/Trq with a motordyne cat than without on my Vortech, but this was a built setup, here's my thread...
