just remember if you try to use the stock MAF in that pipe, the tune will be off since its not the same diameter as stock.

Not many people tune with the stock MAF, but FWIW

Jet Mech, its just as easy to drill and tap into the 1st curved pipe for a nozzle. Thats how I did mine. worked perfectly.

Also, if people dont wanna wait for these to get made, you can always buy the MAF adaptor from SFR or GTM (~$30) and have an exhaust shop bend ya the pipe (about $20 in material)

I know I dont have a vortech, but I have been running with the K+N typhoon with the one peice chrome intake tube. I was just thinking about the heat on this and if it will cause issues.

Running the camp2 and looking at air intake temp with the typhoon it was reading upto 89 degrees whilst sat in traffic this summer. Going over to an AEM and using the stock MAF that reading now comes down to a max of around 30 degrees. I am running unwrapped manifolds know it runns hotter. Performance seems to have changed for the better and need to go back to uprev for retune now.

As I say I know nothing about FI, but thought that it may be of interest due to the MAF temp when cased in metal rather than plastic, so I just thought I would throw it out there!

You make a valid point. I just had my car tuned a couple months ago and I'm not ready to head back just yet.

Yeah i know i could do that but i was looking for a cleaner installation where i could get rid of the additional couplers and clamps. It just looks overly cluttered to me for it's function. To me simpler is better!

I'm not speaking for Big C, the stainless one I had done so far is $175.00. Thier is no one in my area who can mandrel bend 3 inch pipe. I bought a combination bent pipe off e-bay for $60.00. SFR made a CNC machined MAF sensor bung $65.00 (first stainless steel 1 they ever made). Welding a 45 degree, 90 degree piping and MAF $50.00. Next it will be electroplated/polished for $25-$40.00

ok. theres already alot of people that are pm'ing me that they are interested in this.

All I need is a minimum of 15 people to say that they are FOR SURE interested in this item, so that Strafe Automotive can move forward and set a production date and start the group buy.

[FYI: this thread itself is not a GB, but a way of indicating whether or not there is a big enough market to mass produce this item]

The local exhaust shops near me (60 mi radius) could not bend 3 inch aluminum piping without crushing pipe. Mandrel pipe benders from what some machine shops told me run about 15K, so the average exhaust shop is not going to invest in mandrel machine.

Wow that's great guys. Looks way better.
I am personally currently working on a new intake pipe for the HKS GT supercharger my-self.
I like to seeing people improve on things. This it a great move for all the Vortech owners out there.

count me in if its $50 shipped which seems reasonable on both ends. big c sold his dirt cheap i missed out, again dont get greedy with the pricing its just a piece of aluminum with a hole in it...vortech should have just made this one extra piping since the kits are $6 g's!!!

There is no way this will cost $50 shipped. Trust me, I want this to be cheap but $50 shipped is just ridiculous. Just look at how much an aluminum pipe ( USA aluminum, not china ) will cost without any modifications to it.

I have a PMASS MAF...but do you think the tune will be better (ie less turbulence around the MAF) with the wider diameter pipe (I'm assuming this pipe would be wider than OEM)
