Default Big Koyo Radiator in G35

So you G35 folks with the larger koyo radiator probably are in the same boat as me. Gotta get the one for the 350Z, and well its a little different.

So what trickery did you guys do to mount it? The bottom mounts aren't really an issue, but top ones are. Did you just make a bracket or did you move the top mount tabs?

And for anyone else doing this, I would HIGHLY reccomend slim fans!!!!

I've got it all in there, but its tight....I mean tight.

Just wondering what the others did.

Tom

Mine is being held by pressure from the pipes.
I was thinking of making brackets for it but that Rad is going no where.

I had asked the same question from others and they mentioned they had to do the same thing

I don't feel so bad now lol.

I may get a little trickery in, and have larry add his 4 cents of how to make a nice mount.

I got the 52mm g35 one but it still didn't line up right. Forged welded on some new posts to make it work. I'll try to get some pics up.

I could image for the auto's it being even worse.

I'll have mine done after work (just need to "mount" it , plug in fans, and fill with fluid).

I would really like to get it forward about 1/2in more to give more clearance to the pulleys and fans.

I had to modify my rad support since I still have my AC.
The AC condenser is flush with the center support beam for the rad support.
That is about as good as your going to get.
I will take pictures this weekend but I still have room up front for stock fan shroud.

The PWR pretty much drops in (VERY minor mods involved for the condensor), I went that route instead.

OK, question 2.

What radiator cap are you guys running with the koyo? My nissan one doesn't seem to be releasing with pressure. I don't know if the gasket is too thick or if the gasket/plunger isn't moving far enough or what. plus I want a higher pressure cap anyway.

I'm using the Nismo Rad cap which I had with my stock radiator.

If anyone has a better cap put me on

FWIW..I bought the big koyo from a guy off of ebay..it was for a 350Z that had been modified to fit a g. It had tabs welded to the top of the radiator that looked factory..someone did a really nice job..took me a good hour to cut / grind them off with a dremel to get it back to 350Z factory fitment...btw my stock fans fit with no issue also..

Thanks for all the input folks.

I went with the way Canadian did it. Mounted through the access holds for bolting the Condensor to the rad.

I need to do a little more trimming of the shroud at the bottom to clear the charge tube going accross there. Other than that it is in. The cap seems to be working for now. There was just mucho air pocket that I had a PITA time getting out. I will be getting a different cap regardless though, as we want a higher pressure one.

Thanks,
Tom
