Sounds like a healthy tune (on the first pull at least!)

Yes Martain at Z-Fever is doing the tune, hes very good at what he does and is actually doing all the tunes now for Threadstone. The car pulls smooth as butter.

Were having the typical boost creep issues that plagues the Turbonetics kits. The boost will go from 9 to 10lbs in every gear. At night when its cooler I actually seen 11lbs on the gauge...pretty scary on a stock bottom end.

Car is smoking when I let of the trottle after fully boosting. Doesnt do it though when on the gas, just when u lett off after boost. Will shoot out a not so bad cloud or white smoke with possibly a blue tint, its hard to tell.

Is that a sign that I need a catch can?

UPDATE TO OLD THREAD!

ENGINE THREW A ROD TODAY AFTER 16,400 MILES OF HARD BOOSTING AT 10LBS.

Motor had 66k miles when kit was installed. No plans as of yet for rebuild...I really want a Vette now.

I thought this was going to be a DIY on how to remove a TN kit.

People still install them?

*scratches head* I just can't figure it out.

The car was a total blast to drive, it pulled really really hard! I actually didnt expect it to last that long at all, the motor was on Nitrous from the day it was installed..ususally 2 bottles per weekend. I never expected it to last even this long.

Im thinking a new and less abused long block would have lasted twice as long..Im actually debating just swapping out another longblock perhaps a Revup oil burner that I can find on CG. I might even run 11lbs on this block.

Building a shortblock for a TN kit is like a pissing in the wind lol. The car itself has over 150,000 miles on it and I dont plan on spending alot of money on it to get it running again.

This actually threw a rod in my plan of supecharging my Titan Truck this summer lol!!!

An OC block will most likely fail sooner/harder -- oil mixed in with the combustion reduces octane and will cause some hardcore detonation under boost. If you were running meth and/or dialed back your timing at peak tq you probably would have gotten some more miles from your last block. (assuming a failure on the TN kit didn't actually cause the meltdown, massive boost spike for example which is not uncommon with these)

Yes, I totally agree, but spending 5k+ on a built shortblock, thats including labor is far more expensive then swapping out a used block for probably $600 plus labor. Also if I can get 30k miles on the next block it will surely be worth it.

Only boost spikes I've ever had were when wastegate vacuum lines popped off or rubbed thru due to the close proximity between the wastegate and the radiator - not the best placement by any measure but an easy fix. Its preventable by wrapping that vacuum line with some heatwrap tape or similar. Both times it happened to me my car was on the track, and my UTEC sensed overboost and cut fuel, making a it a non-issue.

Also, converting to an open wastegate dump like I did helps keep the boost steady. The stock TN recirc exhaust piping from the wastegate to the downpipe will crack anyway, eventually

I never got any boost spikes at all, boost was rock solid all the time untill redline. Also I had all the updated piping from Threadstone with the new added Flex Sections to prevent cracked pipes. My AEM truboost has a overboost function too.
