Default F/I advice

So before the flamming starts, bear in mind that I am a noob from Africa, need a say more.

So I just got myself a F/I 350Z.
Car is fitted with a Turbonetics single turbo system.(T60-1) Engine is built up with new pistons and rods. Dyno reading 385hp.

I have 2 concerns.

1. The car is fitted with a single 90mm exhaust system from the front which leads into what looks like the std box with dual exist pipes. Is this fine or should it be changed and if so to what?

2. The car runs on a Uniq management system, what should this be changed to?

thnx in advance

pretty sure that was the initial tuning solution for the full turbonetics kit. same product as the Uni-Chip.

the exhaust is fine, and as long as the UniQ can control timing, that's fine as well. The early EMS solutions didnt control timing.

I would see what injectors are in there and crank of the boost! Take advantage of your built bottom end.

Yea didnt realize that. Get comfortable with the power and get to know how the car handles alot before you get on the throttle at all. I know alot of Z owners that ended up in ditches and telephone poles the first month they had there cars.

AND none of them were making anywhere near that kind of power.

gotta love grey market imports...I wonder if you can find a buyer overseas and recoupe your mod costs, maybe even profit on all the work in the car...never thought of this angle before. I wouldn't be surprised if the OP paid a hefty penny for a modded car from the states. The local body shop here dealt with an importer putting $20k body kits on Mercedes and they made a very hefty profit still...

buuut back on topic

the exhaust should be fine if the AFR's are good. it is probably not the best but if you change the exhaust, you will need to check the tune, so you will need a tuner who can tune the EMS.

thanks for the info/advice guys.

Car was purchased here in South Africa. Not a grey import, we get most of the cars you guys get expect for American Muscle cars.
The 350z came to SA in 2004, only available in full trim, which is how we like our cars, so no point bringing it here if it does not have all the bells...

The kit was bought of the net from an American company. Yes the uniq is the same as uni chip and came with the kit.

As far as the engine not been built.
I know it is a built motor, I have the invoices and chatted to the guy that built the engine.
The power is not up due to the boost been turned down, due to me hearing that the uni chip is not the best management system and is restrictive, hence my post on what would be a better management system.

Get rid of the extras and keep it simple on the factory ECU with Osirus/Uprev.
