Default New cylinder block, any machining needed?

Hey guys,

Does a brand new cylinder block need any machining before building it up with a new oem crank and forged pistons/rods?

I just saw an example of a bill from the only reliable vq35de machineshop here in the Netherlands and a new cylinder block without machining will cost me around the same amount of money...

Thnx,

Reinier

ok did some searching which i should have done earlier (;

seems cylinders en pistons will never be spot on so there is always machining involved..

someone correct me if i'm wrong.

IMO if your going to do anything its best done right the first time so I would just spend the money to machine the block, even if it is oem there may be some imperfections in it and with a good machining it will eliminate or at least reduce any issues that you might run into. GL with the rest of the build.
