LOL...done.

I started disassembly of the engine and my black is cracked badly near my oil pump so I just stopped, I feel my entire engine is dead.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll buy my new daily driver...lol.

If your car help rotate the earth, what are we going to do now? You better build your motor quick!

A to B DD car. The less you spend on the DD, the more you can spend on your build. I picked up a 1990 Nissan Sentra coupe for $600 last October and it still runs like a champ. $28 in gas every 7-8 days of commuting 45 miles/day.

I'm planning on getting a pickup truck...might as well make it useful.

It took me for ever to figure it out.. when the ticking was happening somehow my eye caught the crank pulley, it was wiggling. I jacked the car up tighten that HUGE bolt ( ud think it would never come loose, your wrong ) and everything went away.

You may have had the same problem I did and just didnt see it and then this happened ( which I could totally see )

Not much you can do now though.. you have an excuse to built it lol.
I had the same problem on my vq30 maxima with an OBX crank pulley. Sounded like rod knock. It was the crank pulley dancing around only being held on by the tension of the belts in opposite directions. It was completely in 2 pieces.

Maybe the crank pully got loose and started moving around.. could that have caused broken crank, in turn total destruction?

Or is it more likely the other way around - engine grenades taking out crank and pulley with it?

Either way it sucks... even if the block is salvageable the crank is not and that is very expensive.

The crank shaft smashed through the block toward the front of the car, the block is cracked.

This all sucks. I know that a lot of companies want a core with a good crank, so depending on the damage, you may or may not have one. The pulley rocking around could have thrown off the harmonics of the engine too doing a lot more damage than you think. Hopefully not, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you man!

Stock. But honestly, I doubt the pulley had anything to do with it.

Damn, that is some hellacious damage. Good luck with the build! Even with shipping being as expensive as it is on a block it might be the cheaper way to go in the long run when you compare any labor and or machine work that needs to be done with a motor build.

not really hindsight. everyone told you to stop beating on your car and get it properly diagnosed since 10-18-10 when you made this thread https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...i-related.html until you blew it on 10-21-10
