Default Downshift on FI

When you guys downshift, do you always got just one down (ie 5 to 4, 4 to 3, etc) or 2 (6 to 4, etc). I know on NA it's no big deal, but wanted to see if it would be high risk on FI given sudden increased boost on internals

Thanks

I love these responses to questions like this. Seriously though this guy is 100% correct. NEVER do it. If you have to, only skip 3 gears never 2.

Downshifts are fine, just make sure you rev match and do it clutchless.

On the track I go from 6th to 3rd to save time, also sometimes 5th to 3rd and skip 4th. Never 6th to 1st or 2nd but 3rd is ok. Never skip on upshift though. 6th to 4th is another easy shift but if you miss 4th you'll get 2nd and that is NG. Also 6th to 3rd is OK if you are good but to 1st is also NG. Best way to shift is go through all gears and then after many many many many many years of track time you can perfect skip shifts like a pro. But wait for many many many many years first, not that easy

Yes its ok to downshift when a turbo is installed. I asked the same question thinking that the turbo would get a sudden rush of exhaust gas and possibly overboost my motor. It will respond very quickly, just drive it like you used to. I do try harder not to mis-shift though because I still dont like to take any chances.
