What happened to the fun we use to have.
The economy took a big dump. That is the main reason things are slowing down IMO.
And yea that BOV sounds like a dead chicken stuck in your intake.

the most fun I ever had on this forum was back when a bunch of tards (including a lot of people who still are on the forum) though VRT was awesome and actually knew what they were talking about - me and briguymax and a few others who actually knew their *** from a hole in the ground would call them out on all their ******** claims, and WE were the ones who got flamed for it - we were called "haters", troublemakers, and labeled as "guys like you are what's wrong with this forum". oh how things have changed in 5 or 6 years...
One long 15 page or so thread is STILL a hoot to read. We were flamed to high hell in that thread. Lo and behold, we were right and all the retards defending VRT eventually realized they were wrong and now VRT and MrA and company are universally hated.

My point is, it is not and will never be commonplace to see diy turbo builds on a Z or G. It's not like some of the other FI from the factory platforms, where you just upgrade a part here or there, or like a Honda, where you simply buy an Ebay manifold, find some random turbo and intercooler, weld together a few pipes and presto, you have a turbo kit.
Oh I see so instead of saying NOBODY will be building engines or turbo kits in their garage, you should have said not everybody or most people won't or......

Our shop is still about 50% 350Z/G35 but evolution has done it's thing, and we started seeing more of the next gen platforms, like the 370Z, GT-R, and G37. We'll never stop supporting this forum, and offering advise and info as long as there is still healthy demand for the car. And I think there is! We just had a car dropped off, that's a normal 03-04 350Z that is getting one of the largest project builds we've ever done...XKR level.
But I think it's about time for a my350Z.com family reunion of some sort. Maybe Atlantic City or Miami?

Quick question
Has anyone who had failures actually seen a machine shop to do the work on the parts? Just because they hand a customer a receipt with a lot of work done it doesn't mean the work was actually done. Who is going to supervise the machine shop? Most people drop the parts off and they only see it again a few days later after it's "complete"
I'm willing to bet there's been MANY instances where members here were cheated and no machining/balancing/blueprinting work was done at all, thus all the problems SOME had.

A lot of members here drop off brand new forged internals. The machine shop does absolutely nothing but hand the custom a receipt with no actual work done. It's that simple. The parts are new. How can anyone tell if the necessary work was done without supervising the machine shop.
SOME machine shop owners/workers are hardcore domestic dick riding *******s. They don't want to see some V6 Datsun making 1248 wheel horse power over their GM 10 liter crate motor, so forget doing the work.
So just hand the customer a bill with no work done (or done extremely wrong, on purpose) and watch them blow $4k in parts alone with bearing material in their oil pans. Or revving an unbalanced assembly to 8k RPMs. Soo much win!

I'm the poster child here for blown motors and spun bearings and I have had full build specs on 3 engines (out of 5). Its easy to see if the parts you paid for are there after it fails, its while its running that its all on trust.
IMO, if a machine shop is trustworthy they will have zero issues with you spectating quietly during assembly or will send you daily photo updates of your project. As far as unbalancing a block on purpose.... well, thats like trusting the piston and rod manufacturers to hold their specs on every piece too.

And I think the economy plays a huge part as well as TUNING. All the newbs wanna spend 5k on parts on there car then ***** and moan about 1k to tune the car. Tuning on our cars is soo much more vital and important then other platforms I think that makes a huge difference as well. You actually need to be educated to work on this platform and have it preform properly.
