Default G35 tt

Hey I have a 04 g35 and I want to go FI but I need some advice. I can`t decide between twin or single. This isn`t my daily driver and I want some ideas on what I should do with it. Im not looking at going crazy with the build but I would like some good power somewhere between 450-550whp. I want something to have some fun with on the weekends.

Avoid the Turbonetics kit from there every other kit on the market twin or single should make 450-550whp, and everykit available has at least a few threads in this forum. i am a Jim Wolf fan boy because i had his 530bb kit great for a stock engine (it won't make the 550whp but his 700bb kit will) and now his 850bb kit and I have no complaints. For single turbo kits the boosted performance kit has a great price for a high quality kit and you can install it yourself in a day on jack stands. There are lots of other great kits that guys have had great experiences with as well just take your time and do some reading. Everyone on here has their own preferences as can make arguments for each kit available so in the end it is what works for you and you goals.

For 450+ WHP be sure to get your rods and pistons upgraded.

sylvan, youre right. hiw coukd i forget about the BOV?

op, on a serious nite, the only thing i will say is if younhave a sedan, do tons of researchbefore pulling the trigger. i did my homework, but still am in the middle of issues. just cause it says "g35" doesnt mean it is a bolt on. theres will be headaches.

then again, this basic info is something youd know if you read the stickied thread at the top, or read others numerous threads

im not buying a junk kit from ebay so i can have my compressor wheel blow up and destroy my engine. I have a coupe and I am a installer for custom shop. Doing the work isnt a problem i have my own shop and all the tools. Just wanted to get a second thought on things. Just looking around all i see is mainly the Jim wolf kits. I am most likely going to go with that.

Jim wolf kits are only sold and installed by dealers unless you buy used from what I understand unless they changed their policy.

Twin kits give you better low-midrange power
ST give you better top end

All depends on what you looking for

1/4 mile I give the edge to the ST
Road course/Track I give it to the Twins

I see you in Jersey, where abouts?

I would go for the Dreamworks Supercharger. It is by far, the best solution out there.

Considering the quoted statements, it sounds like a SC system would be your best bet. If you don't want to go crazy on a build, I would keep your goal at 400-425 HP, keep a stock motor, and get a nice piggyback ECU. Once you get above 425hp, you'll need to build the motor and your costs go up considerably.

Good Luck, and let us know what you decide on.

I really want to go turbo though...also I was planning on building the block but not everything...from what i understand the stock connecting rods can handle quite a bit of power so putting new pistons in and fixing up the heads isnt problem...what do you guys think is considered a mild build on the engine?

Wrong

Wrong

Wrong

Who is feeding you this information?

The connecting rods is the weakest point of the VQ
Heads flow fine just add some cams

Mild build (Eagle rods/Wiseco pistons/ACL Bearings/ARP Mains/ARP L19 head studs/Cams)

a Boosted performance 6765 single turbo kit with a quick spool valve should become the standard single turbo kit out there. nothing could compete with it for the price and ease of install.
