I just bought an SRT4 with a blown engine from my friend. The price was too good to pass up. Currently researching the LS4 5.3liter fwd setups =) Although, im most likely going to rebuild the engine. Ill do pistons/rods/cams/35r and all other supporting mods and have a decent 500hp daily driver. I just ordered a different radiator/intercooler in one last attempt to get my coolant temps under control and my new clutch is on its way.(for the Z)

That swap is pretty common on the old Fiero's. I wondered about putting an LS4 into a Maxima or Infiniti I30/35. Would be bad a$$ cars. Can't wait to see this SRT4 project. Are you keeping the Z now?

I thought you had solved the heat issue a while back? Is it a constant issue even while just driving around town, or only when beating on it and at the track?

I think I have finally solved the issue haha. I fixed it but its not perfect. It used to overheat no matter what I did, whether on the highway or around town, cold out or warm out. Now the temps stay around 200 on the highway (180 on a 70* night) but around town on a 90+ degree day it still gets up to 230*. My radiator is tiny and I just found one thats the exact same size but with 2 cores instead of one. Mine is 24x19x2 with one 1" core. I found the exact 24x19x2 but with a 2" core. So its pretty much the same size with double the cooling capacity.

^ +1 I've been lurking since you started this project. I'd hate to see it end becuase you're bored with it- plus, you were a major imspiration in my decision to do the LS swap.

Yeah, ill end up keeping it. Im putting in the new rad and intercooler and just driving it until I finish the SRT-4. Im still most likely going to bring it to the track once but who knows.

Well new clutch is in and what a difference...clutch finally lets out where its supposed to and ive only put 30 miles on it so I couldn't really get on it but it seems to engage so much better. The stack height on the old clutch was wrong and there was 1/5" of preload on the pressure plate causing the whole clutch to slip on high boost. I should have enough miles on it by the weekend to try another run on high boost and pray for no slip.
