Default Turbo porting

I got APS TT kit with the original BB turbos.
Recently I did a full build long block with Matt (1cockyZ) helping me with the shortblock. I made certain changes since I did my base tune @ 15psi on the car (DW 300 pump/CJM Stage 2 upgrade/Custom 3" mid pipe to remove the bottle neck from the Greddy Evo TT) and now the car is overboosting to 20psi at 3k RPM.

I'm using Forge Wastgates with red springs which were the same as when I did my initial tune. When I initially installed the wastegates I used very little preload on the actuators so the car would not boost as much. Today a order was placed with Forge for yellow springs.

While I have things apart I have been reading on overboost and boost creep issues with other platforms and have seen people talking about porting the wastegates. I have priced it out and it seems the going rate is $200 for porting the turbos and Jet-Hot them.

Anyone have experience doing this to their turbo?
Is it even worth it to do it on the Garret BB turbos that APS brings?
Should I be looking at other solutions?

What are your power goals with your new setup? Have you considered switching to external wastegates?

I have been looking to go to external wastegates for a long time.

It's hard finding someone selling APS headers with the port for external wastegates let alone the supporting piping. I already have the APS 3.5 DP with the port for the external wastegates.

As far as power goals whatever I can get efficiently out of my setup I would be happy.
From what I have read from other threads peak efficiency is 18psi so anything close to 600whp
is what I would be looking for.

The motor was done top to bottom to handle more power than the APS kit can throw at it.

I see...

Give Blouch Turbo a call. They have some experience with modifying APS turbos. I'm curious to know what they would have to say on the matter.

My GT25R's had to be ported a little bit to control the creep. The other option is external WG.
