Default That's Great News!

Now if you could just find a way to fit it under the stock hood, I might buy one. But as it is with that big bulge aftermarket hood, which is ugly as sin, I wouldn't come near it.

I agree on the price. IMHO to be competative the price has to come down. Assuming that the DW SC delivers, then it'll be about the same price as yours, yet put out more power and allow the buyer to keep the stock hood...

Oh good, you remember. When should I drop off my 350Z. Anytime in January would be good for me.

This is too cool -- I won the SuperCharger Challenge. Chris, forgive me.

I love this job

Kevin -- checked our database and orders entered online and I have no record of your name. Could be in the latest database that hasn't reached my office yet. I will contact circulation tomorrow and see what's up.

Are you sure it was me? Probably was and I most likely botched it since very few orders come through my office. Seems I put a close on you, then screwed it up. Wonder if other publishers do that. Probably not!

Please email me (publisher@sportzmagazine.com) with the pertinent data and I'll take care of it. Since we have a secure line from our web site, ordering the subscription there will be the best way to do this. Please put a note in the comments section and we'll send you one of our Enthusiast Back Issue Packages to help make up for our blunder.

I thought the stillen intercooled sc wasn't covered by the warranty? I went on a run with skk100 and he had the intercooled sc and he said it didn't. Maybe u guys changed that? I kno there's a warranty on the non intercooled one. Havin the intercooled sc warrantied definately makes me more interested.

Splurt -

We received approval on the insurance coverage for the Intercooled Supercharger using the 6lb. pulley just recently.

I am a subscriber to the Mag and can't wait for the next edition to ship. I hate my SCer and 6500.00 is nothing to me if it works right, but it's too late I am in way too deep with my current setup. I would gladly take Stillen or Dreamworks over my ATI if I could do it all over again even if it was 2k more just for the warranty and yes you can quote me on that!

Can somebody tell me if I am thinking about this correctly? I think the ATI's are putting about 358 to the wheels. It sounds like the stillen and DW will be closer to 300 or 305. Is this true? And is everyone that is interested in FI OK with this?

The reason I am asking is that the only complaint I have about my car is the motor. It is fine in its own right, but for me to want to keep the car for years to come, it will need more power. Then it comes down to how much more will be enough. I'm just worried that 400 at the engine may not be enough if I could have had 450 or more like with the ATI (not that I want an ATI!).

Thanks. Andy

If you figure the DW puts out 400 at the crank then you get 320 if you figure 20% loss, which is quite conservative

I feel if Stillen wants to sell these thing what they should do is start making some new hoods. Make like 2-3 real badass hoods that will work with there SC. I garentee if at least 1 of them looks good sales will rise..

Just my .2 cents but then again who am I???

Just remember, the DW SC is planned to have a stages 1,2, and 3. You are quoting stage 1 hp ratings. You can add hp to this set up thus it will grow as you got the $ to do so.

Stage 2 and 3 will come out later and hopefully, internal mods will be better then as well so this will benefit the potiential of the kit.

From my perspective these kits are being more conservative for added long term reliability. I'm sure Stillen had to prove such in order to have an affordable 3yr/36k warranty tacked onto their Stage II kit and probably the reason GReddy's turbo setup isn't higher HP as well. IMHO

Default Ignorant Question

Not being too familiar with these types of mods, do you need both Stage I and Stage II? What do they each do? And finally, does one by itself have an advantage over the other?

Thanks,

Yea, I guess I need to wait for this shootout. I don't think I've ever really seen anything other than dyno results in here (but haven't paid great attention) when somebody has posted about their setup. Racetrack results will be a big help.

I thought about it more later and I guess it stands to reason that at a normalized amount of boost, all systems should result in the same power output. That is, not counting any small differences due to things like varrying fuel curves or the like.

What is yet to be seen, in my mind, is a dominant, long-life setup. I know it's early in the evolution, but maybe this shootout will start to shed some light on things. A motor warranty definitely eases my mind though.
