I'm a bit surprised that the 4L80e trans seems to get overlooked by the VQ community. It has the benifits of a TH400 (same gear ratios and power holding capabilities) plus the added streetability of an overdriven 4th gear.

Yeah, but who wants all those shifting levers on a street driven Z or G?

Obviously that would be for a purpose built car and not a grocery getter.

a 4L80e is a great choice as well.

Yeah, a Lenco trans is certainly a great option for a drag car that is rarely street driven. But I doubt it would be a palatable alternative for the 5AT guys in the VQ community.

The gear shifter for the 4L80e isn't that bad at least, but most still look like they belong in a truck. There is an electronic paddle shift capability available for an additional $1500.

jeez, transbrake FTW it seems.

single 6265 (essentially a powerlab turbo with a bigger turbine) turbo trapping 140s with 10.1s 1/4 mile in a similar weight car.
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...w-PB-with-6265

wouldnt that be something if all the powerlab guys could trap 140+.
