Default GTM Supercharger Build List

Hey there guys. I'm getting ready to start a build list to finally supercharge my car with the kit from GTM. If anyone can offer any insights or additional information on what else would be beneficial, please let me know. As of now, the list includes:

1) Transgo Valvebody Upgrade
2) GTM HD Transmission Cooler
3) GTM 350Z HR Supercharger Tuner Kit
4) GTM Torque Converter Upgrade
5) GTM Transmission Control Module Programming
6) Osiris UpRev Engine Management Software

Please let me know if you have any information or insights to offer. Thanks!

It might help to know what year your car is, what your goals are, and what you intend to use the car for..

Sorry. It's a 2008. Daily driver, so it has to be reliable. And I'm hoping for 400WHP.

Op you will want the turnkey kit not the Tuner kit since you didn't specify fuel injectors and fuel pump.

You should also get an oil cooler, boost controller, gauges (boost, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, egt), wider tires, LSD, and exhaust. All of these items are optional but highly recommended.

All the above are good except you will not need a boost controller for a supercharger kit. Also I wouldnt get a LSD you have a touring model factory lsd will be just fine.

Really, all you need is our Turn-Key Supercharger Kit, engine oil cooler, valve body upgrade and a transmission cooler. You don't really need exhaust upgrades on this car as it will hit 400whp DJ with stock exhaust. If you want a little extra oomph down the road, then a cat-back and some resonated test pipes will do just that.

Stock cats don't have any problems with the rich A/F's and elevated temps? At least on the DE, 400whp is a recipe for fail on stock cats -- especially if you drive it hard.

All of the testing that we have done on both the HR and VHR platform with our supercharger kit has been on stock cats. Our experience thus far has shown that the stock cats vastly outlast the majority of high flow cats currently on the market with our supercharger kit. I think there may have been one brand of HFC that does ok, but I can't remember which one it was off the top of my head.

Now, obviously any kind of test pipe will outlast any kind of cat. So in essence in terms of reliability with our supercharger kit, it would look like this:

test pipes>stock cats>aftermarket high flow cats

Yes it will. That said, boost doesn't always equal horsepower. Airflow equals horsepower. Boost is nothing more than a measure of resistance to flow and rarely tells the whole story.

Now, the HR and VHR are two totally different animals when it comes to supercharged power.

The supercharged VHR makes less power with test pipes than stock cats.

The supercharged HR on the other hand, makes more power with test pipes than stock cats.

Both motors experience boost drop with test pipes instead of cats.

The reason the HR makes more power, and the VHR loses power is more complicated and requires a deeper understanding of internal combustion engines and airflow. Suffice it to say that the VHR has more intake duration and overlap at high rpm than the HR motor.

Mike,

How long have you guys been running the SC on the HR platform? When you install the product in your "test" car (for lack of a better word) do you leave it on and log miles on it? Or after x amount of time do you take it off to move on to the next thing? Just curious.
