OK, Jimmybevis . . . you started all of this. Will you please contact your Nissan dealer and ask them who manufactures this kit, and then post it? Also, in the same conversation, would you please clarify that this information the dealer received came from Nissan North America, and that it indeed went out to other dealerships?

Or better yet, if your post is accurate, then call B.S. and ask to see the memo . . . they may not show it to you, but at least you can ask. Just trying to figure out why this dealership in Alabama is privy to info unavailable to dealerships in California.

Yes, but do you think Nissan is going to back (warranty) a product designed by Toyota engineers? It doesn't make since to me. Not that Toyota engineers aren't good or that the Dreamworkes kit isn't going to be good, but it's like Chevrolet getting some Ford engineers to build a supercharger for their Corvette . . . don't see it happening. If Nissan was interested in backing a supercharging system for the 350Z in North America, why wouldn't they hire their own R&D company? . . . unless these TRD engineers are FORMER TRD engineers who have cut all affiliation w/ Toyota . . . then, maybe. But to do it right, it seems to me that it would be nice to have direct access to all Nissan data regarding their ECU/sensors/etc. I can see those in charge of information security/integrity not wanting to release that info even to former Toyota employees. These big corporations can get pretty **** about their information security.

And, I don't buy that information will be available on 1 JAN 04 but that further details cannot be released now b/c negotiations are still under way. If negotiations between Nissan, Nissan dealerships, Dreamworkes, etc are still underway, then 1 JAN 04 is a make-believe guess on someone's part. But if we believe that this dealership in Alabama got a memo from Nissan NA about a supercharging system . . . then surely negotiations are complete. NNA wouldn't send out a memo to a small dealership in Alabama if the important negotiations weren't complete.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that this dealership in Alabama will be offering a Dreamworkes system just like other dealerships are installing Procharger and Stillen kits before the 350Z's ever leave the lot . . . AND any warranty provided w/ these kits are those of the kit manufacturer/3rd party and no warranty is provided or implied by Nissan, NNA, or its affiliates.

Our Nissan dealership in San Antonio has no memo or otherwise even alluding to a Nissan supercharger for the Z. I think the above statement is true.

MSGarrett1:

1. DW's claim the engineers are former TRD employees.

2. As I said, it would make sense to me if Nissan designed their own SC if they are going to back it but them again, look at my example of Nismo being made by Jim Wolf.

3. As I said, DW's needs to deliever on its promises/claims. I am pointing out their claims, not promising they will be able to do so.

4. Supposely, the release date by DW is based upon them getting CARB approval. They told me their goal is to release it with CARB approval and a warranty rather than release it and provide CARB documentation at a later date. I would guess that if they are only waiting on CARB approval, they are still estimating on when approval would be issued. Time will tell for sure.

5. Rumors are flying around ranging from 3rd party warranty vs Nissan backing. When I spoke to Nick of DW about a month ago on the phone, he was saying the warranty was provided by a 3rd party insurance company much like Stillen is doing. Yes, some Nissan Dealers are excited about doing installs of this SC kit and if that is what will happen, it will be much like what some dealers have done with ATI and Stillens. No release by DW has been made regarding any agreement with Nissan relative to Nissan suporting this kit.

This is about all the information I can provide at this point. Again, time will tell what rumors are valid.

Yeah, scary huh? My former English teachers must be rolling over in their graves! I guess being long winded has its advantages. Maybe I will be considered a real writer after something is published.

Are you going to be at the testing on the 13th for sure at the stadium and Carlsbad raceway?

I am excited to meet you guys that attend.

As I said in my original post, the dealer could not give me the price
or manufacturer of the S/C.

As for the memo, I will see if I can see it, or at least find out "positive" who the memo was sent from/to.

This sure opened up a bucket of worms.

Im not sure saying it is "backed" is the exact word...

When and if it definatly comes out, is the only time we will know for sure

Yes, indeed. I think you recieved some bad/misleading information from your dealership. But I must admit, it is my greatest wish that Nissan would back/sell/install a forced-induction version of this already fine automobile.

Zland . . . I totally agree w/ your statements

I finally had time to go back to my dealer re: supercharger info.

The story has changed: They now tell me that they "meant" that there would be a memo after the first of the year, not that there "was" a memo now. When pressed as to how they know there "would be" a memo after the first of the year, and from whom, they didn't have answers.

It appears as though they were just interested in keeping my business, and not looking elsewhere for a supercharger.

I stand before you humbled, and sorry if I got your (and my) hopes up.
