Default Over 55k boosted on twins and running strong!!!

I havent posted in a while, but I've been pretty much DDing my car, driving like I stole it whenever I get the chance(which is pretty often). A few winters and a few summers later, shes still running great. Stock block, utec, ACT clutch, sicky gaskets, ect.. Julian originally tuned it,then my brother (who used to work at MRC) has trimmed and added a little here and there, really waking the car up. Car still pulls great, running 11psi in the summer and 8.5psi in the winter.
I gotta say, the APS kit has been great, the only thing to really maintain the car has been to replace the return lines every year. i had one crack, and didnt notice until the undercarraige was spackled with oil and pouring smoke. So now i replace them when they get crispy.I was going to just hardline it, but I guess laziness has been the factor. Also the pass side turbo seal is "sweating" a little, so me wanting no issues down the line, would like to put new seals in it asap.
I recently put a set of federal 595rsr on the car "265/35/18" and they stick great. The tires are actually 280mm wide, and they have a 140tw.
So after reading a whole bunch of APS threads, what turbo rebuild kit is available? just the seals and such. I see that you can get the whole center section, but its over 2k. I have the original gt2871r bb turbos. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks....

"You drive like grandma" haha.. yeah ok.. I've ran the snot out of this thing for the past 4 years, and no major problems>> granted the day my car came off the dyno, it would walk my car hard right now. I can feel the motor is a bit tired, but its still ok.
No tranny grinds either, and i dont lift after 1-2nd.

www.blouchturbo.com

They can do the rebuild for you.. If you have the BB turbos the price may make you pucker a bit. FYI, Forced Performance is basically the same cost.

Do you have any track time in the car? If so what kind?

Do you have proof that you drive the snot out of the car? What are your power numbers at the low and high boost?

Im not hating, but "I drive the p!ss out of my car" is the most abused saying in the FI forums. Do you know our senior, ancient, dust farting member superchargedg?

He claims he drives hard too and in the 8 years Ive known him Ive only seen him go WOT 4x. (Love ya Keith! ) Get my drift?

I hear you, everyone says drives fast.
When I first got the car tuned it made 410rwhp @ 8.5 psi. I have about 20 boosted runs down the 1/4, the best being 12.002 @ 116 iirc. .The clutch would stick to the floor if i came out to hard, and would just **** me off. Stock with DR's the car would run 13.4-5 all day long.
When we tuned it for 11psi, we did it on the street, so no numbers. By now, I'd say that being that the motor is tired its probably the same #'s at 11psi as 8.5psi 4 years ago. I really dont find the track that much fun.. I have always been into HPDE with all my old cars (another 06z, track prepped ITR, track prepped EK, and this one before I boosted it. I did one event boosted 2 summers ago (pocono), but only ran her for the day. The car was running a little hot due to the weather, and the fact that i was driving it like an NA car lol. I played it safe and only did 4 sessions.
I put these new tires on 4k ago and I've already flopped em and rotated. almost at the wear bars already.. Sticky as hell, but you dont get to many miles out of them. And now that they're squared off, and have a few heat cyles in them, they stick even better. So then you drive even harder.
I hit the speed limiter at least weekly, and none of my employees will get in the car with me (except the fun ones) Speed limiter sucks every once and a while, but I'm not about to spend $400 to go another 15 mph.. but i guess thats a little contradictory, being i dropped how much to trap 10mph faster? haha..
So you want proof, I dont have much, guess your gonna just have to take these words .. Or come up here for some mountain runs.

That's all good man. It truly does sound like you found a great recipe of parts, and tuner.

12.0 @ 116mph on DR's I assume? Man I wouldn't sleep at night that's so close to 11's!

You can go out and enjoy your setup, that's more than I can say, well done...and props for answering questions and not taking my comments to heart like some of these **** **** fools on here.

Sounds kinda like me

except i don't have a speed limiter

Congrats on it holding up, some stock blocks are just stronger than others. I guess our blocks were built on Tuesdays

Congrats on a successful build. We need more success stories here. I hate seeing all the horror stories all the time.

well, think about it....

most people post on the forum about their car because they have a problem.

theres tons of people out there with reliable tt'd and s/c'd g/z's. me being one of them. i dont need to make a post about it tho. maybe im just too humble. either that or too superstitious and dont want to rely on the ol' knock on wood tactic.

Thats true but having more success stories may take away some doubts people have about going FI with our cars. I for one dont mind reading it especially if it includes dyno charts and track times lol.

LOL Alberto you never let up!

OP congrats, i love seeing threads like this. Just installed my BP kit last week, hoping for the same luck as i dont foresee a built motor my way anytime soon, maybe a few stock blocks on the side just to see how far i can push it though...rh_334 style

Good to see its still running strong, especially sustained around that power level while attending several events. Happy boosting!

Yeah, the original BB gt2871R.
Alberto is right, you know how many people swear they beat the crap out of there car, and they drive hard and blah blah.. These are also the people that go by the date on there oil change sticker, not the mileage lol..
I dont want to sound conceited, but I wipe the floor with these guys when it comes to actually driving lol. We have some really nice mountain highways around here, you can just sail through turns at 120mph or so. Love it!
