The event rocked, I have a video of not great quality to share of two of the supercharged Z's on the quarter mile. Also, I have some pictures of them in the autocross. I will size them down and post them right now. My best quarter mile (stock Touring) was 14.44 @ 97 or 98mph. I'll let the other guys post their times.

Nice meeting all you guys there, I was the guy with the Z hat by the way

Who were you, did you drive your own car?

At least I drove my own car, unlike some other people.

My first autocross event and my Z ate some cones on one run out of three, no shame in my game. I held my own on the 1/4 mile (vs stock Zs) and next autocross I got something for your ***.

Ted, Razz, Sam, Dorian & Erik:

I want to thank you all for participating today in the autocross and 1/4 mile portion of the test being conducted by SportZ magazine.

Carl Merrit was driving during testing and I was doing double duty making sure test cars were ready to go on the track and getting to ride passenger for the first run on each car on autocross. Of course I cannot tell all, that is what the magazine articles are about but I can say that each car was awesome to experience. Different yes, but a real rush. Carl and I were doing a lot of smiling all day long.

After it was all over, Carl, Steve (camera man), and myself went out to dinner and talked about the testing. For now, lets just say that each car will speed up your heart rate and each has it's own personality. There is more than one way to be fast and these cars are all fast.

We got dyno testing on Monday at Stillen of course at 8am. Anyone wanting to see these cars making pulls, just make your way up to Stillen and check it out.

Jeff - zland

I surely hope that after hounding this forum for the last two months to advertise this event, to try to find cars to use, etc. you're not going to expect people to wait until the magazine comes out to find out anything at all about how it went.

That would be insanely lame and a poor reflection on you and the magazine you now work for, zland.

All of the testing is not even finished yet. We have dyno testing on Monday.

I thing people expect us to consider all the data before saying anything regarding performance specifics. The testing procedure had us doing 2 tests in one day and literally going from one car to the next quickly on autocross and then 1/4 mile. This is great in the aspect of being able to get impressions of how the cars feel compared to each other but not good to be able to set down and reflect on hard data between runs.

Only after being able to reflect on all the hard data can we combined subjective driving experiences to it to provide a well-rounded review.

Jeff

Default Don't Tease Us

Please post the 1/4 mile results of the supercharger shoot out. If you already did and I just missed it, I apologize.

I know that "publisher" wants to sell magazines, but a lot of us (including me) are already subscibers. Don't make us wait 3 months. Thanks.

I worked the 1st day of testing but Carl Merritt and Steve, the photographer worked the dyno pull today. Remember guys, I got a full time job and SportZ is the fun stuff but as they say, "you better keep your daytime job".

I just spoke to Carl on the phone. He said they just finished up doing all the dyno pulls and photoshoot of the 4 Z's together. Everything went well in testing on both days so we should have some good data coming out in the article.

At this point, I am not opening my mouth on results. I will talk to Art and Dave at SportZ. I have to get persmission to release results. After all, they do need to run a magazine. I think they will release some data but I got to see what they are willing to release now and what has to wait for the next issue of SportZ magazine.

I guess I can posts some shots. I took these between everything else I was doing during testing. Steve was the photographer for this event and he was doing all the track shoots etc.

The 1st pic is the Vortech car.. Got nice Volks on it (yep, 10" rears!) and a CF hood and bumper. They sure look pretty in black!

Here is the ATI car. All of the SC cars were running 19" wheels. The ATI had a 245/275 combo.
