that makes quite a bit of sense using coolant temp and averaging them.

The only time there is a problem is when the sensor is heat soaked and not giving true readings.. Otherwise it works perfectly as it should. For me at least.
I wonder if we could put a ceiling on the air temp readings, ie the haltech only pulls fuel up to 160* or whatever, something just a bit higher than you would actually encounter. Which that os basically what we're doing when adjusting the temp correction at high temps, tricking it into supplying the correct amount of fuel for a lower temp.

I even had this issue with the sensor heat soaking when using the stock sensor in the maf. I wonder why the utec never did that.. Just had it's own retarded hot start issues lmao. Is there a way we can base the calcs off of coolant temp at low loads with the haltech?

There is some other mechanism besides only the air density at play here. maybe like raj says it has something to do with vaporization or such.

Id just go with a higher ratio of water to coolant, add a redline Water Wetters in for good measure. <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

I think you might be on the wrong page....

Ross: I'm not sure. We have a coolant temp table so maybe that would work.
