why not just order it from many of the US dealerships that have them in stock....seems like it would be faster than from japan.

Erdem,

Great to hear about this build. I'll ship out your pulley tomorrow...

As you're going forged, I would be tempted to go with nitrous as well to make up the difference... As you rightly point out, you're not going to be getting much more then someone with a stock block will!

Patience my friend... patience.

btw, did u find a new valve cover?

i've put my build on hold because of the weather being so damn hot.

gonna get the mechanic to start building by end of August, and hopefully the car will be on the road by end of Sept. (if things go as expected).

btw the installed headgaskets is the OEM ones.. (don't ask me how and why) So... my goal is not 500Hp anymore but more like 400-450 with bigger IC as the only mod from now on!

I'm NOT going with the 928 impeller.. being poor for the moment FML!

rather save some money for a Turbo kit!

If it still out then just tell them to change the head gaskets to an aftermarket one. Its really just a waste of money to get a built short block and just keeping it at 400hp.

What feeling?

The wait? frustration? disappointment? anger? being poor? having to take a taxi sometimes to work? having to think of new excuses when people ask about your car?

400whp is alot of fun but 400hp is meh.

which oem head gaskets did they use? Did they use new studs on the heads?

With oem gaskets and studs with a higher clamping force 500hp shouldn't be an issue at all. Oem gaskets with oem bolts torqued normally isn't enough force but if you use arp studs and torque them to the 95ftlbs those oem gaskets will hold more.

also, if they are oem HR gaskets then they will hold quite a bit more.

Thanks for your input Jeff

The studs are new and ARP.. Headgaskets are new as well not HR though..
Still, I don't want to put more $ in this Vortech build going with what I have for now.. I don't think I'm going to like the Vortech noise afterall..
