Stroker Kit Questions!!!!
Hello everybody on this site. I am new this forum and I am excited to learn a lot from everybody. I am interested in buying a Brian Crower 4.15 stroker kit, but i have some concerns with my car. First of all, my car is an 5 spd auto so do you guys recommend a valve body upgrade or would the power from this kit be too much on an auto trans? I am also wondering if i would experience much of a power gain without turbos? I wasthinking about installing turbos but much later in the future. I have dual cold air intakes if that makes any difference haha

have you budgeted what the stroker will cost? All told, between the built, the install and tuning costs, you're looking at a $10k-$15k investment with everything necessary to make it worthwhile, in your car, and driving. Without the turbo kit
the stroker you build for forced induction is far different from the one you build for NA use, so you would need to establish one direction or the other from the outset
power wise, the stroker in and of itself will not yield a tremendous amount, certainly not enough to tax the transmission. The rest of the parts you select have to compliment the stroker, and vice versa

+1 on the cost, my stroker was even more money than that. 4.15 means sleeves plus all the other associated machining.
but if you can afford it, no reason not to do it. it will shift your powerband to the left so you can run bigger turbos. You'd pretty much wanna dump the nissan tranny and go with a built GM 4L80e, TH400 or even a 6L80e. That way you can run as uch power as you want and not worry about grenading the transmission. VTR sells that swap kit you'll wanna buy so it all bolts right up.

if you want to make serious power thru an auto, it doesnt make sense to spend the money on a "built" nissan tranny. For just a little more you can run a tranny that has a million off the shelf parts as well and hold anything you can throw at it.
TCI makes a 6 speed in a 4L80e case with paddle shifters and control module for about 5500$. A regular built 4 speed would be like 3000$. You'd spend at least that on a nissan tranny that would probably only hold 1/2 the trq.
VTR just ran 2 cars with the same trap of low 130s. The built auto went 0.6s faster! That might as well be a mile.
I'd probably build the motor and turbos 1st though. get that all figured out, then swap the transmission. Twin 6765s on 4.1L stroker with a transbrake auto would be sick.
