I agree for drag racing its not a great car or maybe our community is just full of shitty drivers but to be honest I don't give a **** about drag racing....so if your main purpose is to drag race then yes i agree its a bad platform to start with.

The VQ35 is a great platform, it was voted top 10 best engine 5 years in a row...and it had one of the best HP to MPG ratios. I actually wrote a lot more but i decided to delete and just say....putting money in an already depreciating asset is a bad idea...it is a risk we take to put a smile on our face. I'll leave it at that.

oh and ps...the GTR is still a VQ engine and look at what they are doing with those cars...8/9 second cars with full interiors.

Yeah, that's why I specified the VQ35DE. The GT-R is pretty sick no doubt.

Looks like you have changed your tune after actually turning a wench on the car....

You argued non-stop about how easy and cheap you could make 600whp on this platform and the rest of us where a bunch of fools with too much money you were a douche bag about it too.

I am so glad to hear people say things like this. It's just so true!! I was able to justify the insanity when I bought my motorcycle the same way. It seems like you have to completely accept that there is zero, no, negative practicality in it and decide if it can still make you happy.

Believe me I didn't want to sell it, but the buyer said either you sell me everything or no deal.

I needed to sell the parts desperately. I need a new engine + thinking about getting the **** **** wide body Kit and painting my wheels orange.

dikspiel, you better watch out

I was a douch bag? This forum is still #1 in the worst forum I have ever been on due to all the dumb *** people on it.

I've been working on cars for over a decade and have been tuning them for almost as long. My G35 is the first and only vehicle that has ever broken that I have tuned or worked on ( except for my very first car I EVER worked on and that was over 10 years ago ) and quite frankly I attribute it to the engine simply being weak. I can't do much about that.

I must admit that my view of the VQ35 has definitely changed, it has not been for the better unfortunately. Such a beautiful car though.

Its so fwking hard to find a cheap VQ35HR around.

I found locally a 99 RB26DETT, a RB25DET, a VQ37VHR and a 2JZ. Still thinking about what to do.

I don't know about each person and their car, but I've had my 350Z Track Model and it's modded a little-491hp and don't have no issues on it. Runs smoothly as it did new except a little quicker of course. I'm happy and enjoying it very much...

I can do a 2jz-gte + R154 + single turbo swap locally for way less than but still not sure about it.

I already spent most of the what I got for my parts on a trip to Dubai and stayed for a couple of days in Bahrein
