it's not stupid.
i worked for about 6 years building engines for a MX race team. 2 boys, same bikes. It seemed like no matter what i did michael's bike would always have problems and chris's bike ran like a champ with no issues. I used the same parts and same techniques and tuning on both. It was just random chance with some things on michael's bike that had nothing to do with the fact that it was a kawasaki because chris rode the same exact bike.
Don't get discouraged just because it's the same car that had problems before. Each build is different in itself.

built block vortech was 451hp on injected's dyno. Truthfully i probably would have still been happy staying with my stock block but it wasn't much of a headache for me to put that built block in it.
That being said, i had more fun, actually got to drive my car, and had only about 5k total into my vortech with stock block. I miss it completely and kick myself for not just enjoying it.

I opted to sell mine but it was a working car....and I basically got a cash offer, sight-unseen......
parting out is a PITA.....
If mine would have popped I have no idea what I would have done, its hard to say until you are in that spot....like you said, its a tough pill to swallow to drop lots of $$ and have nothing to show for it.
I do have to say though, I miss it less and less every time I go to the pump!!!! <10mpg would not be fun right now in Chicago.

Because I don't live in the U.S, its hard for me to get engine builders to stand behind their work. They will come up with a million excuses to not to.
Hell, my GTM TT kit's BOTH exhaust manifolds broke on me after a regular car wash and I couldn't make GTM to send me replacements, they quoted me new ones price

BTW ..send me a PM of the date you purchased the manifold and when they cracked....also when you spoke to Sam.

^^ PMed.
Also, I made a FS thread in a local forum:
I can get the money for a new short block, but that would put me in a really bad financial situation for at least 8-10 months
Also, I made a FS thread in a local forum:
GTM HR 350Z TT STG2 kit (the kit needs new exhaust manifolds, the ones I have are broken) They are for ~$900 from GTM.
GTM SPEC 3" downpipes
Haltech platinum 350z pnp EMS + IP Wiring Harness Modification for HR (HR plug and play)
IP Boost Control Kit
GTM full return fuel system for HR
HKS Denso 1000cc Peak and Hold Injectors
IntensePower A-Pillar Triple Gauge Pod
OS Giken quad clutch.
for $8000. Excatly half the price of them new. (not to forget the waiting and shipping)
Open for trades. stuff like: body kits, wheels or if you happen to have a long block VQ35HR.
Need this gone ASAP.

New plan, lol
Sell:
1-Haltech and IP HR harness.
2-HKS 1000cc injectors.
3-OS Giken Quad clutch
To fund
1-Stock short block.
2-DW 600cc injectors.
3-JWT Clutch.
Tune with UpRev and stay at 400-440whp and call it a day!!
What do you think guys?

sounds like a reasonable plan.
why getting rid of the haltech though? It's an amazing tuning product with the datalogging make it worth the cash. You also had a local that tunes haltech i thought too.
just as an fyi, you will need that hpx maf with the uprev because 400hp will max out the stock one. So that already puts your uprev at 700ish$ plus the cost of the tune then you need widebands and you don;t have a dedicated datalogger or boost controller. If you want all those features it will all add up to the cost of a haltech in the long run. If not then go uprev.
