greddy tuner turbo kit (20g) question..
i recently purchase a brand new kit and apparently this one never came with an e-manage system not like the other greddy bolt on turbo kit. According to greddy, this kit is very customizable so it never came with one. I asked the installer locally and they said without it the car will run like crap and the idling will be unstable even after tuning it. So i'm asking for the people who have the same set up or had the experience of installing this specific kit, do i have to get an e-manage system or can i just piggy back my way around it?
thanks...
jeff

thanks for all the response guys, very helpful. I would not be driving the car that hard, maybe just be playin around 7-10 psi (for now) would i still need engine management or its a MUST have? i had boosted car before and it ran fine with out an e-manage, and i know every cars and kits are different and i just wanna make sure it runs good.

You do know you need to purchase injectors with a tuner kit...right?

The stock Greddy lines do suck, Forged makes a nice replacement set for about $150.

EMS is an absolute must at the very minimum. If your going to be running on stock block, you can make good power between 5-8 psi of boost.
Uprev has proven itself to be a fantastic system time and time again. That is another very feasible option for you. Depending on your location, a haltec is a very easy to use ems especially if your support is limited.
Also I ran 2yrs on a greddy system on stock block with about 14k at 8psi@430whp, all I added was my fuel pump, injectors, gauges, and BOV.
Just my .02, but this gives you an idea that depending on your needs you don't have to go all out.
Good luck with the install OP!

good thing you mentioned about locations, i was advised that haltech is the only system that perfectly works up here (alberta, canada).. i would love to go for the less expensive route (uprev) but maybe with my location it won't work as well?

Correct OP, Haltec has alot of support with members here, and the software for the tuner and end user is the same. One of the big pro's to that interface for sure.
Uprev again is very strong, but your limited if you don't have an uprev dealer near you. I think a Haltec is the way to go for your situation IMHO.
