We are giving you advice but what happens is people dont want to listen to anything they dont want to hear. We are saying to not buy an ebay kit and you dont want to hear it. You want to be coddled and be told everything will be ok and yes an ebay kit is just fine and everything will work out perfect. It goes both ways
Do me a favor and search every build thread you can on here, and come back and show the results of all the Ebay Turbo Kit "builds". If you want a cheap kit, buy it. If you want something that is proven to work then save up some dollars and buy one.
PS: The first sentence you put you know you will be flamed. So I don't understand why you are complaining about the results you got.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Missed this one by an hour or so.
Noob lesson #1, if someone with the title "Most Hated Super Mod" tells you towatch the noob vid you should probably pipe down

one, even if people are bashing you dont join in on the game that gives them more fuel and then even people who would be helpful wont. second the issue people have with cheap kits isnt the intercooler or piping its stuff like the bov, wastegate, and turbo. they MAY work and you MAY never have a problem but its like playing the lottery i promise you i have never won that game if you havnt either its not recommended. now if you buy the kit and switch that stuff out sure its fine for lower power but then you have spent more then a decent used kit.
its not really the boost level or power level that destroys those cheap kits its the fact that the quality control is very poor so theres a good chance something will fail and destroy your engine or it will last a couple thousand miles and have to be replaced. thats where all the extra cost comes from with good stuff, better materials and double/triple checking specs to make sure the bearings arnt going to eat themselves in 5000 miles or the wheel isnt going to explode and send small pieces and oil into the engine. In the instance of wastegate a good one makes sure you not going to get one that stays closed or has the wrong spring and you end up boosting 25 psi instead of 6-8 resulting in a melted piston, busted ring lands, or one of many very horrific tales.

its funny that ignorant people are so quick to flame.
so the guy wants an inexpensive turbonetics style kit. so what. have any of you used a chinese turbo? if not, then STFU. the OP is right in that the elitism/negativity in this forum is absurd.
In fact, there are plenty of guys in the supra/evo/dsm/scooby forums that run ebay turbos with no issues. And even if there was an issue, it would most likely be shaft play causing it to smoke. Hell my 1000$ PTE turbo had the turbine seal take a sh`t in less than 500 miles from an inproper rebuild by PTE.
In the end, if the seals did go, you already have all the piping to drop on any T3 turbo you wanted. Holset HX40s are super cheap and are very reliable. You'd still have a few thousand less into the kit than you would even buying a used turbonetics kit. Or you could even send the chinese turbo off to get balanced for about 60$. Fitment might not be perfect, but anyone purchasing such "kits" should understand that going in.
Like I said earlier, I probably wouldnt trust a no name wastegate, but those are cheap enough to add a Tial 38mm.
On a stock block, it would be a perfectly fine solution.

Hey Rich,
Would you endorse this as well?

I was wondering if this game system would work for me, since I'm only a casual gamer with goals of 300 - 350 hours per year. My playing goals aren't too high. So if a cheaper system could handle it perfectly fine then that would be good.
