Going F/I?

Hey Rich,
Would you endorse this as well?

I was wondering if this game system would work for me, since I'm only a casual gamer with goals of 300 - 350 hours per year. My playing goals aren't too high. So if a cheaper system could handle it perfectly fine then that would be good.

I don't get why people are still looking for cheap kits when there is a handful of boosted Zs for sale at any given time.
I guess they see a $20K price tag, figure their car is worth 12K and they can get a turbo kit for $2500 so it's much better to just do it themselves.

Um why not address the actual thread and not make silly analogies.
You are an intelligent person. instead of flaming, why not explain why in your experience its not a good idea.
I've already posted the potential issues and effects based on a quick google searches from DSM/supra/sti forums. All of which use those kinda setups frequently.
Jeffie, you are right. Our cars have 0 resale value. People are selling but VQs for the price i spent on my motor alone. Its crazy. If you didnt own a Z/G and knew you wanted to go FI, its crazy to buy and build yourself.

The fact that there are some guys in the DSM, Evo, STi, and Supra communities using this stuff only proves that there are cheap bastards and idiots on every platform. You'll be hard pressed to prove that the quality and performance of the eBay setups are on par with any of the name brand turbos and kits available ...especially in terms of spool, power, and efficiency compared to a name brand turbo of the same size. If you can't afford or don't have the patience to save up for a quality turbo kit (as well as quality supporting mods) or to fab a custom kit with quality components... you shouldn't be going FI in the first place IMO.
...and any f@ggot who would defile a Mark IV Supra with cheap eBay crap deserves to have his Supra taken away and his @sshole sewn shut to prevent him from shoving his head back up in there.
I would also agree that its crazy to buy and build yourself but that is also a lot of the fun in the hobby for some of us.
I just got my HR in april and I will say I love it but I've already got the itch to turbo and I have been looking into it.
Kind of wish I bought a DE to build as there is a lot more support.
That's why its wise to keep all stock stuff and put her back to stock and part out the good stuff. If you keep your car clean it is possible that the average buyer wouldn't even ever know it was boosted.

I could never part my car out and put it back to stock only to hopefully sell it to some sucker who doesn't ask the right questions. I would list it as was turboed and is now back to stock.
I already had one guy willing to buy my 350Z at asking price, only catch was he needed to trade his DD towards my car. I told him I was not willing to sell him my car if it meant it would be his only car and he was extended to make the loan work. Chit happens even if something small, and he'd be out of a car for going to/from work. He's currently saving up the difference, if I still have the car when he has all the money, its his.
I guess some sellers don't care, I see this all the time with never been dropped/wrecked motorcycles. Sellers can be such scum.
P.S see my sig lol. Ask anyone in the Mid A I'm **** as hell and will tell you anything good/bad about the car no matter how small the details.

Chris@fsp parted out his car, then sold it along with everything in his shop. He no longer tunes or works on cars. He went back to servicing commercial and residential alarm systems. Times were tough and not alot of people in the south central U.S get their cars modified.
You're right he was helpful and treated his customers right. It sucks, he was my tuner

Comparing swapping cheap turbos in cars with much more accessible snails vs installing a cheap turbo kit, isn't a direct comparison.
FI Game = take what your car is worth multiply that by 1.5 then add 10% a year. That is what it will cost to build a reliable (not fast) turbo setup and the 10% is maintenance costs. Learned this the hard way.
Yes Alberto, I sold my Aprilia and picked this 2011 Sucker Punch Sally "Sled" up. I love it, although its totally different style of riding than I'm used to. I was getting way to comfortable on my Ape and this will slow me down considerably.

Swapping the turbo out on your turbonetics was hard?? i'd say thats as easy as any of the cars mentioned.
running the piping on a turbonetics kit is not hard either. that godspeed kit is a turbonetics clone. even if fitment wasnt 100%, its easy enough to make tubing fit with some couplers/saw/ welder, etc.
that is a cool motorcycle for sure though!

How is this still going on?
Whatever, I will enjoy the regulars hashing it out with each other.
+1 on Jeffie liking ****.... I mean being ****, my bad. The worst part of buying that car would be removing the thick layer of dust
