Should the Supercharger Shoot-out Results be Posted Here and Now?

So I should retype the info, or better yet, wade through 6 pages and cut and paste it so you don't have to to go read it?

highest dyno 1st, 2nd, etc.
Well no one can really know who won the dragstrip or dyno. The autocross went like this: The driver was getting more and more accustomed to the track and was pulling better consistent numbers. Everyone's times were pretty close.
Dragstrip: We only saw the printout of one run. THat run was the ATI, driven by the ATI tech, and the Vortech driven by the Sportz driver haed to head. Those results are posted by someone else but i did see that slip and and that was the only printed slip we saw. Those results were 13.1 (ATI) vs. 13.4 (Vortech). Mind you both takeoffs were not great. I never saw a single slip from my 1/4 mile times (Stillen). THe driver would rattle off numbers but these numbers would change. He was obviously not trying to give out too much information and i do believe no one saw any other time slips.
Dyno: Non one has any clue on this. Only Stillen techs and Sport Z have those numbers. None of us got to see the monitor during these pulls.
My 2 cents: No one was declared a winner and no one could have been declared a winner based on the info we get. Also when the magazine comes out or when they divulge all the stats from the shootout I will comment on their testing procedures.

they had the right idea, but the wrong approach. I voted for "protect in their best interests", however I disliked their "teasing" or what-not. You don't see R&T or MT coming on the Z forums "teasing" us with what will come up in the next issue of the magazine. I think the magazine should have kept it hush-hush, and let the subscribers get a nice little surprise in the mail when the mag comes. By teasing the general Z community here, it just alienates them and makes us resent the magazine.

If the driver never drove the course before, then the car tested 3rd, as you were saying is going to have the best road course time. As far as dragstrip, same thing. But, he should have driven all three cars, because driver is everything.
As for the dyno, same thing again. None of the cars had the same mods, so they cant hold water either. The dyno between the cars should have at least used the stock wheels that way everyone can get an accurate dyno measure to the wheels.
The test should have been run with 3 cars, all the same models, all the same mods, with stock wheels. If you want to get technical, each car should have been weighed at the track and also with exact tire pressure.
This test was a good way to drive some high powered 350's to the max for fun.
We appreciate the excitement our supercharger shootout has generated among our subscribers and the Z community. However, it is the policy of Sport Z Magazine not to release test results prior to publication of the magazine. All car magazines have similar policies (e.g., Road and Track tested 350Z
tuner cars in June; the article and results weren't released until the fall, several months after their test). Regretfully, to prevent what has transpired above in the future, all upcoming tests will be unannounced and closed to the general public.
With a shoestring budget and a core staff of only three guys (all of whom have other jobs), we at Sport Z couldn't have done this shootout without the generous contributions of our donor cars, complimentary dyno time at Stillen, and the patient coordination by Jeff, Carl, the supercharger manufacturers, and, of course, the participants themselves who juggled their schedules (and took time off from work) to attend. The four will be
receiving a package of thanks from Sport Z.
Partial results of the testing *will be released* with the shootout video, which we will make available online at www.sportzmagazine.com (release date TBD). Please be patient and thanks for the support. If you have any questions or want to express your outrage, feel free to PM me--I'm always available. In the meantime, those upset at Sport Z for denying readers timely 350Z coverage should head over to www.caranddriver.com, www.roadandtrack.com, and www.motortrend.com to catch their latest 350Z shootout articles and accompanying videos.
PS: I would love to vote, but I think you would consider it biased.

my god...all you guys need to calm down.. if they tell you the results going to be out in three months ..then let it be...dont take this personal...but all you people are acting like 5 year olds a couple days before christmas...PATIENCE.... act like grown ups...i cant believe they even made a thread to vote if they should show you the results now...
My car is holding up great. It isn't my daily driver but i have logged 10k miles on it. 3k with the supercharger and I havent had a single problem (knock on wood). If i wanted it to be the daily driver it would be no problem. The car is as tame sounding as stock at idle and is a beast at full throttle.
As far as the "press release" stated above:
"With a shoestring budget and a core staff of only three guys (all of whom have other jobs), " I dont really understand? Is this an excuse? you only have 3 people who work on the mag?? Were all of you working Sat morning?? NO!! Did you all have previous engagements?? Because I cancelled my planned trip to be a part of this.
Also this tone is uncalled for:
"In the meantime, those upset at Sport Z for denying readers timely 350Z coverage should head over to www.caranddriver.com, www.roadandtrack.com, and www.motortrend.com to catch their latest 350Z shootout articles and accompanying videos." Instead of trying to rectify the obvious problem you start making excuses and sarcastic remarks? What are you guys 12 years old? Where did you learn to do business.
Long story short and I am getting breathless discussing this: I think you guys at Sport Z could have handled this test a little better. I dont want to hear excuses about other jobs, committments etc. I just want your company, albeit barely a company, to understand my gripe. That's all. It just wasn't PROFESSIONAL. If you needed help in organizing then ask. I am sure many people would have loved to lend a helping hand.
JUST STOP MAKING EXCUSES!!!!

I am sorry SK100 was treated this way. Some form of appreciation is necessary. However had I not read his post I would be empathizing with Sport Z mag %100. SK100s post diminishes my enthusiasm for supporting them.
Now that thats said, after reading SK100s post I feel very bad. After offering their cars to be tested I expected AT LEAST they would be given a free subscription. But not so much as providing water and seats for the donors????? Very poorly handled.
Thumbs down to Sport Z mag! No Bueno!

By the way, major props go out to the Vortech Z, stock Z, ATI Z, and Stillen Z owners. They were perfect examples of true gentlemen and true enthusiasts who sacrificed their time and cars (and a lot of tread...) for the sake of Z owners.
Also, thanks goes to Jeff who kept some sort of organization in tact and really helped out the disgusting situation that SportZMagazine threw him in to.
FYI I have recieved some disturbing PM's and emails etc and have asked for my back issues for two weeks now to 3 different people there. Now one is "leaving till Spring" and the other is out of the country so this is not a normal purchase IMHO.
No answer to my missing back orders just a "I saw your hate" reply.
That based with this, I will not renew my subscription PERIOD. I'm just one man, but if someone orders back issues and 3 people ignore your messages or "forward them along" and the one I really wanted this shoot out one is falling apart b4 it even prints well then can I get a refund?
18 bucks for 4 mags? Flame suit on I guess but hey, consider me a dispointed subscriber FWIW.
