Default Running decats on the same tune on a Vortech V3

Hey guys,

Quick question. My vortech v3 (3:13) has currently been mapped (uprev) with the stock headers and cats. I am considering putting the test pipes back on. Will I need a retune? Is there any adverse affects if I do not re-tune?

Is there likely to be considerable gain without a tune? If so, how much typically?

Thanks....

Both myself and SteddyZeddy got an extra 20ish HP changing from HFC to Decats AFTER a tune, so I would say its worth it as you would get more going from stock cats to decats. It will help keep things a bit cooler and reduce your boost a little too as you will have more flow.

I don't think I would risk pushing it hard without the tune though as you may run a little too lean.

It's been mapped quite rich at the red line. I doubt it would lean out very much.

The problem is, I want to change the cats back when on track or long road trips, etc... so I need something which is going to be good enough for both! I know you can get multiple maps with a bit of work.... not sure if i want to do that though... hmm....
