Default NA to S/C

Hey guys I'm currently in the process of thinking if i just want to go S/C from just my bolt ons my main question is the current stuff i have / coming to me what will i be able to keep for optimum performance for the vortech v3? this is DD (except in winter as i just got stationed in midwest =/)

And tell me if im understanding this correctly, since i have an 2004 Z and i already have the spacer, i do not benefit from the mrev2 correct?

What I have
5/16 spacer copper iso thermal
jwt pop charger
V1 ART pipes

what i have planned to pick up
MD tdx v2 (can go their FI route they have)
nismo rtune cams (is there a better route to go?)

someone correct me if im wrong but i do believe you are correct. the mrev2 is basically for the revup(06) motors since its a re-worked lower plenum from the 03-05 models. the 06 Zs only benefit from both the spacer and mrev as us with the DE benefit primarily from the spacer.

with forced induction you wo'nt need that stuff. It's a waste of money. If you want more power and have a supercharger just change the pulley to get more power.

also, with a super charger and stock block you are limited to the rods which means you are limited way below what would require a cam upgrade. 1500$ for cams plus another grand at least in install for very minimal gains. I would spend that money upgrading the fuel system or even better yet, getting a nice engine management like haltech or proefi.

according to this you actually do benefit from getting those parts to allow more air

ok so scrap the cams. but keep with everything else, and use the money i would spend on cams to upgrade fuel and get haltech. sounds good to me.

nobody ever said they aren't beneficial but in the grand scheme of things with an FI car the difference it will make over changing a pulley and increasing boost is a waste. It would be worth it maybe when you need an extra 5hp after maxing everything on the system but a stock block will give up far before the limit of that vortech WITHOUT that expensive mrev thing happens.

Basically, there are things that he will benefit from well before he will benefit from the mrev since he's limited to stock block power.

That would be the route i would take but i'm just another person with an opinion. You're the one spending the money on the car so make the decision that best fits your budget and goals.

well yeah, non rev up motors dont really benefit from the mrev even for NA build. i believe its said that you start seeing diminshing returns with it.

agree w binder.

point being dont worry about them.

All this still hinges on the fact the OP doesnt yet have a FI set up.. i get the feeling this is a " i can afford bolt ons but have FI dreams in the future, what parts that i can buy now would i be removing or not need laster w FI".. if thats correct, then buy all the stuff you listed and enjoy. I will stress that a tune with those parts is absolutley 100% necessary or your ecu WILL fight each and every sinlg e mod including the ones you have now until you do so. Its not an if, its a guarantee.

So, if i were you, id buy Osiris tune software for your ecu, it will help w what you have right now, will help w your bolt ons later, and can be used for your FI later on.. pretty no brainer move there id say.
Worry about your fuel system only when youre actually going FI.

You will be far happier w your car now, then and later on as well. I can promise you that.

I cant stress Osiris enuff as it can be used for alot of set ups.
Good for NA, and still cntrols a boost solenoid for FI later on, tons of maps you can select w your cruise control too.
