Smile APS TT actuators replacing, wastegates

Hi guys, pondering about swapping my APS OEM actuators / wastegates for a set of forged red spring ones. Has anyone attempted to do this without taking the engine out? I've been looking for some threads of people replacing them but not really seen anyone doing it without taking the engine out. (heard it's doable but would like to see what the general population think)

(that has done it themselves...)

I have done it. very difficult. If you are not an experienced mechanic with small hands, don't attempt it yourself.

I have the red springs, and they are a bit too much for my liking. Base boost will be 11-13 psi depending on temp (running 2.5" aps exhaust). friend with the same setup runs the blue springs and his base pressure is about 10 psi. What is your setup and what are your intentions for boost level?

I want to have a bout 10-12psi base boost and be able to play upwards as needed with the correct support mods, the engine is a 06 engine forged. I'm running a custom 2.5 dual exhaust.

I'll rather go red instead of blue and have to redo it further down the line. What did you have to do and how did you do it? Pics would be great

what are the base PSI on the stock ones?

i need a softer actuator for my exhaust cutout. Mine is 11psi and i want one as low as i can go. I think 6psi is the lowest i've seen.

edit: so my comment is if you replace these adn your stock ones are low psi i will buy one off of you

you can have mine so They did 0.4 bar without boost control and managed 0.8 bar with the boost control. Linky to the exhaust cutout thread please!

Still considering getting them out myself...

sick, i'll pm you for some pictures because i want one!!

here's the thread for the cutout.

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...nd+performance

if this pressure doesn't increase my spool i might just put an electric cutout so it's open from 0psi. I have a small stock exhaust so it's very restrictive until the cutout opens thus causing my spool up to 11psi to be kind of slow.

electric cutout with control in the haltech?

I saw that exhaust cutout, no good to me with the dual system though.
