poor atomization of fuel in cold air. i'm sure there is more behind it but that is the one thing that stands out in my mind. I doubt it would apply with temps until they get near freezing though.

Cold engines wear down faster over months and years, get poorer mileage and probably spew more emissions (not like we care).

I'll let Hal explain it better if he comes in

Yeah... I'm just wondering because I know where I'm at (Vancouver, BC) the temps hover around 5-10C throughout the winter... I don't typically drive the car hard- tires don't like it that cold anyway- but I noticed it takes a Loooooooooooooong time to start registering temps on my defi gauges (oil / trans)... Wondered where it transitions from being "Great temps for FI" to "too cold for FI." And by freezing- you talking about ambient temps or actual engine operating temps?

Sorry to have to dummy it down like that- still a cliff style learning curve here.

It would be a much better option (displaceing 1.5L of air per rev, vs 1.0L on the M62, but it is larger, and won't fit. You could start messing around with the hood, and a bunch of other mods to make it fit. IMO not worth it.

sucks that every dimension is bigger. http://www.capa.com.au/eaton.htm

a M90 would really make some power or a M112 would be sick. Just would need a big hood scoop like the stangs. Make 600whp pretty easily i'd imagine
