Bought Racer59's HR from NZ.
Got a gearbox flywheel, clutch and a few other things coming from Conceptperformance
My engine and transmission mounts should be here next week
Have ordered Greddy turbo's TD0518G and will make my own exhaust manifolds to sit in the best spot in my S13 engine bay.

If I were you I'd go built DE, 264 cams, valvesprings/retainers, titanium valves, nismo intake cam sprocket (increases the cam advance from 30 degrees to either 50 or 55), rev up oil pump, ati fluid damper, and a nice cosworth intake.
In fact, the same block I have would be great for your setup (Dynosty Stage 1 block+crank girdle). I started buying from Dynosty about half way into my build and now I'm a loyal customer. I've talked with and purchased from several others (not going to name them out of respect), and the customer service is just unparalleled (even though they are on the other side of the country). Dustin/Hal/Eddie really know what they are doing, and they have competitive prices. They're popular not because they are good at blowing smoke up peoples bungholes, but because they are really good at what they do.
If you still can, and are willing to pay the shipping, contact them. They'll help you out a ton, and you'll get a lot more in depth knowledge on the vq platform.
If you want to time attack with the vq, you'll need a stout build. Sure a stock block could hold up, but after seeing the stock rods in person... Don't really trust them for forced induction, let alone tracking a car for a whole season on FI with 500whp.
Ultimately, going with a shop that has experience with Z's (vq35s) is the best route, and I honestly can't think of anyone better than Dynosty.
IMHO you should definitely go with haltech, even though there are better ecus out there, being in australia means you get a ton of support.
Just trying to be honest, even though that sounds like a plug, it's exactly how I feel about the topic.

500 is the upper guestimation limit, i don't see myself being able to put much more than 460 to the ground. It was pretty quick with the RB25, she'll leap out of corners with the VQ torque!!
Haltech is a no brainer- my tuner is a Haltech agent.
I put a rev-up with JWT 530's in an S13 it needed to clearance the frame rails... took out rev-up and put in HR turbo sits over the frame rail... I am not sure if it would clear since clearancing was already done...
The JK transmissions are updated versions of CD009 specificly the HR
JK part #s are for HRs
EYO part #s are for VHRs

My car won't be registered so clearancing there frame rails won't be an issues- i expected i may have to do it along with cutting into the firewall near the transmission tunnel to allow the dump pipes from the turbo to go under car.
I'll also be making my own exhaust manifolds to sit the turbo's where i want in the engine bay
Just bought a new JK41B from Conceptperformance. I guess i'll just get a complete shifter unit from Nissan.
Cheers

I must say I'm super impressed with the service of Coz at Conceptzperformance. I ordered a new 08 gearbox JK41B 10 days ago and it turned up yesterday! Not bad considering it had to travel to the "other side of the world" to Australia.
The delivery price was super cheap and i had my doubts it would arrive in the said time but man- its here:thumb up:
Here's a pic to show i'm not kidding

I've got some more bits coming via snail-mail so i look forward to that.
