Forged Performance: Mint Low Mileage Vortech Supercharged 350Z
Hey guys, just wanted to stop in and share our latest completed project in the 350Z market. This car is owned by a gentleman by the name of John who's impeccable taste definitely carries over to the car he drives. John was one of the very first 350Z owners in the southeast and purchased this vehicle brand new back in 2002. Over the past 11 years this Z has been transformed into one of the most tasteful examples we have seen while staying in show room floor condition. One of the main reasons John's 350Z remains in such a perfect state is the extremely low mileage, with just a little over 7,000 miles on the odometer the car only gets driven on short weekend cruises during the best weather conditions. While this Z looks absolutely stunning rolling down the road with its spotless paint, chrome I-Forged Wheels and subtle carbonfiber accents, the owner felt it was time for his car to have some beast to match its beauty. As always, John only trusts one shop with his baby and the car rolled onto the property of Forged Performance for the last time in its naturally aspirated condition.
With the plan in place to keep the internals of this VQ35DE OEM and John wanting just another 100 or so whp on tap for those Sunday cruises, the decision was made to install the tried and true Vortech Supercharger System. This set-up will allow John's 350Z to have a wide, smooth powerband that will make much more enjoyable stop light to stop light action on those rare occasions that this monster is released from its cage. Of course we also opted for a Forged Performance Custom ECU Calibration to assure that not only does this freshly boosted Z make impressive power but it does so reliably without sacrificing the driveability that comes with a 7,000 mile car. The end result was spectacular 379whp on our low reading Dyno Dynamics Dynometer, which should be enough to keep John happy for a long time!

Thanks Chad for the article and pictures.
I have had the polished Vortech tuner kit and all other required parts sitting in the garage for almost a year but just never had the time to get it all together and hauled over to Forged.
I wanted to get the car "finished" (with all the mods out there are they ever really finished?) for ZDAYZ (this will be my seventh) so I finally got it on the schedule with Sharif.
I went by the shop today and everything looks great. I just had to bring Forged a new AEM digital boost gauge as the original one I had bought from Summit Racing was bad even though it was new in the box.
Car should be ready to roll sometime tomorrow.
Should be fun and now maybe my Z will finally be faster than my 2006 GTO daily driver. That's one reason for the low Z miles - the GTO has been just as much fun to drive up to this point so the Z sat except for car shows, cruises and ZDAYZ.

I have been driving my car a lot since coming home from ZDAYZ and the more I drive this thing with the newly installed Vortech the more I can't wipe the smile off my face.
I thought my 2006 GTO daily driver was fun but now my Z is much quicker than my LS2 powered pontiac.
Let's hear it for boost!

You don't want to turn the traction control off unless you're just looking to wear out expensive rear tires in a hurry.
That being said - if you don't jump on the throttle and just drive normally around town the car is just the way it was pre-Vortech except for the whine of the blower and the sound of the bypass valve.
I added up the total cost for all the work and the parts and it came to $9641.
That includes the Vortech V3 polished tuner kit, the 600cc injectors, the A-pillar gauge pod and the two gauges, the smaller Vortech drive pulley, the one level colder plugs and the total installation and tuning by Forged Performance.
It does not include the UTEC engine management which I had been using when I was still NA.
More money than I thought before I added it up but I would definitly do it again.
