For a 400whp set-up your looking at about minimum $9k and a 500whp set-up your looking at minimum $15k.

Or you could buy the godspeed kit and let us know how it works out!

If I was a mod, I would be merging 10 of these same threads a day into one long idiotic banter of I WANNA GO FAST, but I am on a high school budget.

Always when I ask someone for the best I also simultaneously mean cheapest... Please do a search.

A single turbo won't do that reliably. You need a built VQ, which you can order online. It will cost about $5000 for the built block, then about $10-15K for the forced induction. So think about $20,000 for a reasonable system.

Huge waste of money for a car that only costs $29K new.

speak for yourself...

I am running a Boosted Performance kit on a built motor with the smallest turbo he offers and I made 500/ 500 on 16 psi and E85 and 480 on pump gas. My **** is I would say as reliable or more so than any TT kit, I have less moving parts and one less turbo that could possibly fail.

5K for BP Kit.
2400 for Haltech
700 for clutch and flywheel
4K for motor
1k for fuel
2k for install and tune

thats a safe 450

what i dont understand is that people think all of us who spent cheese on a good kit are ballers, made of money, etc.. like we really just walked by the window of the store and went "OOOO nice!" , walked inside and said " i want the newest and best name brand, i dont mind if i have to pay triple price."

No dude..

how about its the only way to do it right.

Im not going to spend 3k if it means wasting it.. id rather spend 15k and know its a sound investment ( haha.. which even then FI is not such a thing) .

Little boys can buy a 2003 350z a get a loan on a car w 100k miles and act cool.. enjoy your repairs.

Men can buy them new and can perhaps later on afford correct FI.
Not everyone can step into this ring man, it just is what it is. I was actually forced in.
Price was 18 grand.

sorry if these replies seem hardsh, they are.

Were all sick and tired of them. To the point of actual frustration and anger. Truly.

You don't need $9k to just get 400whp. Not sure where you got that from. I have that HP to the wheel for MUCH less than that. Thousands less and yes, it is reliable.

right.. i bet it was amazing. haha. juuus kiddin.

OP...15k total is nothing for a 5800 dollar BUDGET short block ( were even talking stock cams and normal prices pistons , gaskets and rods etc), labor, turbo, fuel system, boost controllers, software, injectors, FMICs, BOVs and wastegates, radiators, supporting mods, various hoses and clips etc, labor to install the kit, tune the kit....
r/r on an engine build like that is usually 2200-3000 from any reputable non budget shop..

I bought parts at cost and didnt even have to pay for the turbo rfs and peripheral install OR the dyno time.. and it still ran me 16 or 17k.

Again, toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooons of threads on this. we are all rehashing things that have been covered again and again. and somehow, nothing is changing.. it is what it is.

if you ahve 5k, you can build a turbo... sure
but we wil not tell you to do it, or commend you for buying ebay stuff for your car.
Your piping will not fit and your turbo seals MAY or may not last long.. journal bearing turbos are for stock 1990s cars..
why waste the time?

Imnot madbro.. just telling you, if it were to be done.. we ALL would ahve done it...
i could have bought a frign BOAT w the money i would have saved. haha

If you want cheap, buy NOS and be done.
