Default Water temp sensor location

For those of you who have installed your own gauges, or at least know where everything is, where have you put the water temp sensor?

The first thought that came to my head is one of the main coolant lines, but since it is controlled with a thermostat I wasn't sure if that is the best place. I am also trying to not dump all the coolant if I can help it.

I remembering seeing some site selling one that goes in the upper radiator house somewhere. I know you had to cut the hose, Im guessing it would go up against the radiator, but Im not sure. Hope that helps.

I threaded mine into the rear coolant pipe, the connecting pipe between the heads by pulling out the old barb for the Throttle body lines and threading that hole.

But for the easier route, we also offer one a little cheaper http://www.z1motorsports.com/upi/pro...oducts_id=2822

We drill and tap the aluminum upper radiator pipe that comes off the back of the heads and around the passenger side of the motor
