the only one that had stock TB position was actually just a sheet metal manifold they made one off for SP. They dont even have a CAD for a stock TB location I dont think.

99% of the builds on here dont have enough turbo to keep making power to 8000 rpms, so not even that plenum would help with that.

The Kinetix "show" welds are a known failure point. My understanding is that they can re-weld with a bead and it'll hold, but it'd be up to you to grind and polish it so it looks decent.

VE at higher rpms to maintain a flat torque curve even if below 8k rpms might still be helpful. Besides, since when is any of what we do practical?

After my experience with the Kinetix SSV, I'll never buy another Kinetix product again. IMO their R & D is severely lacking and both their performance and quality leave much to be desired.

CJM on the other hand... Every product Charles has offered for the VQ has been absolutely top notch.

I noticed no noticeable improvement and didn't feel any gains while driving. I only noticed that it sounded louder under WOT. So I took my G to Technosquare for a tune and discovered my G was making about 10whp less than stock. They made several attempts to regain the lost power over the course of most of the afternoon and made several dyno pulls. However they were unsuccessful and voiced their suspicion that the SSV was the culprit. When I returned to AZ I subsequently changed back to the stock plenum and added the PowerLab 3/8" spacer. I definitely felt the difference after the change and the car finally achieved gains over OEM.

Bottom line: I think Kinetix's horsepower claims were/are bogus. I don't recall seeing anyone who was able to duplicate their claimed NA gains. Now they're claiming 30.5 horsepower gains for the "new and improved" Velocity version.

In addition, I also found that the finish of the SSV wasn't very durable and was easily scratched. The SSV was a piece of s**t and a total rip off IMO.

One of these days... I'll have a spare couple hundred bucks laying around, and I'll go spend the day at Z1. We'll do a dyno back to back on the stock plenum with MD 5/16 spacer, and then kinetix.

I've always heard that na loses power, but there were several guys that "swore by it" for fi.

I just bought it cause I got a killer deal when I was installing the supercharger. ha

I defiantly notice topend improvements. It revs from 5000 to 7500 alot quicker I noticed but lost power on the bottom

i know this is slightly off topic but even if the intake really is crap(like i said i really have a special requirement for my intake so my situation dosnt count) everyone swears by there suspension products even the hardcore suspension guys on here.

personally though i would love to have the cjm intake if i could afford it............ and could somehow mayby weld in angled bungs to spray direct port directly into the runners from the top, dont think that would be very practical though.

and personally i wouldnt believe +16 hp over stock even for the new version

LOL Real hardcore suspension guys and racers choose SPL. They make superior suspension components IMO. I lost trust in the integrity of Kinetix as a company after their bogus performance claims with the SSV and decided to never give them my business again ...especially when there are other manufacturers who are more honest and make superior products for the VQ platform.

i ment for the recommendations for the budget stuff =P i always see the regulars recommending kinetix whenever someone asks for a recommendation and cant afford the spl. anything solid like that will perform better then bushings, although conceptz has that new manufacturer for solid stuff, central something.

like i said though i would love cjm's manifold if i could afford it they where helpful when discussing my swirl pot idea for my car and fully explaining what exactly there fuel return correction kit did so i understood why i needed it even with a swirl pot.

Yeah definitely. Basically that manifold cuts the runner length by like half, which is just good for power up top. BUT I'm hoping to make power up to 8.5k so down the road probably going to make a similar manifold... hand welded out of aluminum.

If people are interested my buddy's willing to fab multiple of them up... they'd probably cost about a third of the cjm. Of course that's down the road. First want to get this bish running.
